Small family run restaurant in Etobicoke. Decor is reminiscent of Japanese restaurants that are hard to come by. Cute sushi 🍣 pictures, chopsticks displays and tea ceremony items on the walls. Only disappointment is no in ground seating, only booths and regular seats. Fish was fresh, had the chirashi don. My foodmates had the karaage chicken which was fresh and tasty. The yam tempura werr perfect squares and well cooked, not soggy or overly done, just perfect. Plating was beautiful with some carved flower vegetables on the plate. Rice was tasty with flakes of seaweed, and cooked well.... Service was good...wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Prices were reasonable: Dinner for three was $100, with two appetizers (karaage and sashimi scallops). Bento was $23ish, came with salad, and Chirashi was $24, which came with soup. Will be my favorite sushi place in Etobicoke now. Overall: Family run sushi restaurant with cute decor and fresh fish.

Ikkoi Japanese food was a great experience for local dining. Offering sushi, sashimi, and ramen, Ikkoi truly offers all while lacking in none. The decor is cozy and inviting, and the entire restaurant is clean and tidy. We ordered a number of rolls, some sushi, takoyaki, gyoza (not pictured, too yummy and forgot). Each dish that came out from the kitchen was better than the last. Bonito flakes on the takoyaki that are so fresh they're still moving!* Even the garnishes on the serving plate were beautifully carved to add an extra special layer of detail. The service was warm and friendly, and had me leaving excited for the next time I'll be back. I highly recommend Ikkoi Japanese Family Cuisine. *Not actually, they're just so thin and light that the heat coming from the takoyaki moves them! FUN FACT!

I love Ramen and used to frequent a place downtown. Tried this place in my neighbourhood which has homemade ramen. My friends and I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen with Hakata style creamy pork, chicken broth, chasu and egg. The ramen noodles was good, the pork tastes alright but the broth wasn't hot enough and not as flavourful as I expected it to be. The tea served was hotter. There was only one staff serving about 10 customers. Maybe she was overwhelmed because the sriracha sauce my friend requested she gave to another table when she welcomed new customers coming in. I had to approach her to request for the sauce again to which she responded that she already served it. The place is clean and there wasn't a long wait time for food to be served. However it was a cold night and we were hoping for hot ramen.

Never have we been treated so disrespectfully in the last 10 years at any restaurant in the US/Canada.. the server (an elderly Asian origin man) ignored us right from the start and didn't bother coming to take the order or serve us water or provide napkins for the first 15mins while we just stared at an empty table. The worst was when my wife asked for cutlery (spoon and fork) for both of us. He told us he is busy and we should ask him whatever we need all at once! He then proceeded to bring us one single fork! When I asked him for another fork (for myself) we ended up arguing and instead of apologizing to us or fixing the problem he asked me to 'cool down bro'. I'm still shocked at how terrible this server was to us. I have no idea whether he was being racist or just disrespectful for the heck of it.

I tried the tonkatsu ramen, king ramen, gyoza, and karaage here. The tonkatsu broth was flavourful and delicious, but they don’t give you very much meat and only half an egg. The king ramen broth was not the best in my opinion - it wasn’t super flavourful. The karaage was decent, but the gyoza was really really good - lots of filling and a very thin skin. The environment here was really nice and calm, with lots of really cute touches. However, I thought the service could have been better. I’m not sure if it might have been because there was a language barrier, but I felt like our server was really unfriendly - almost felt a bit hostile at times (though this may have just been my imagination). Overall, it was a pleasant experience. It’s definitely not my favourite ramen shop, but it was pretty decent.

Ordered a scheduled delivery from Ikkoi through UberEats. Got two ramen bowls, a mountain salmon roll, and an order of karaage. I actually think my order was prepared on the Sunday that I scheduled my delivery for the Wednesday. Food came cold and not even attempted to be reheated. Karaage is stale, old, dry, legit tastes like karaage that was left in the fridge for days. Salmon on the rolls were mush, pureed, almost like a sweet potato mash consistency. The noodles were clearly prepacked and stored until ordered. Seafood in my jampong was overdone, dry as if it was left at the bottom of a pot of broth for days. The food is actually disgusting and for once in a very long time I've chosen not to finish eating my food. I'm sure this is not the restaurants standard, and for that I need an explanation.
