This is my first visit to a Jimmy's Coffee...and the experience was not the best. Let's begin. I ordered 2 scones, a coffee and a latte. The order guy was very abrupt but that's ok as long as everything else is fine which I said it wasn't. I asked the scones to be warmed - not a service they provide - no worries. I picked up my scones and coffees and sat down. The scones were delish but the coffees were not. I find it disappointing when u see a wall print of an amazing looking latte with foam pattern and u receive a cup of coffee topped with foam. Id give the taste a 3/5 too. The drip coffee was no better. But we ate and left. Pls note, when I paid I gave no tip. If I am getting table service I always tip. If the barista is working a masterpiece I tip. If the service and the goods are no better than a trip at Tim Horton's, why would I tip. I don't tip at Tim's. Do u? I mention this bc the order guy mock-whispered to the coffee guy 'isn't it awful when someone doesn't tip'. Like what????? U gave me cold service, coffee was average, I table served myself. Like!?!? I don't know. I only hope that other Jimmy's Coffee...
Read moreI can't fathom why would someone who deals and depends on the public would ignore and treat a customer poorly. I walk in this place for a espresso, a quick drink, but I notice the barista is chatting with another customer about chess, I politely stay in line and wait for my turn. The customer moves to the side and waits for his order of 1 mol of lattes to be ready, in the meantime barista looks at me, I smile and nod, this guy looks me dead in the eyes and completely ignores my presence. He turns his head and goes back to foaming milk, as if he was Niels Bohr doing the most important breakthrough disocvery of civilization, and chatting with the previous customer. At this point, the espresso term lost purpose and after a few more minutes of waiting, I walked out from that place and got my coffee from somewhere else. These things pay a negative dividend in...
Read moreI was visiting San Remo bakery next door. So I dropped in here for a Tea Latte and a coffee. I have been to their other locations around Toronto.
It is a great local coffee shop with a great neighbourhood vibe. The service was attentive and friendly. This location is always humming with regulars who are chatting away while blissfully enjoying their beverage of choice.
There is something about a local coffee shop serving up honest one on one drinks that make it taste and feel special. Perhaps we have recollections from a begone era where small communities with their village vibes were the norm. Ah yes, love those yesteryears. I am feeling nostalgic...
Please do drop in and try their wonderful drinks and then let us all know what your thoughts are.
Happy...
