I saw this place on Tiktok, and I need to check it out with my best friend; we come here around 6 pm on Saturday, but lucky, it is not quite a lot of people. Their main dish here is Jokbal - as you can tell from the name, one of the Korean traditional dishes for pork trotters marinated in soy sauce & spice.
Transportation: near Sheppard Yonge station, so pretty convenient if you come here by bus or subway, there is no parking available nearby so might be a bit inconvenient if you go here by car.
We ordered half original & half spicy dishes - the taste was good and pretty authentic, but the portion was huge, and 2 of us ( 2 girls ) couldn't finish the whole dish.
They give you a good amount of side dishes + salad to eat with Jokbal to make it not too plain & boring, which is one of the things I super like about this place
Fish cake soup - 8/10; a portion was huge, too, compared to the price, and the taste...

I'm beginning to love Jokbal joints so much that I know I can walk into one and most definitely not ever be disappointed with the food, the ambience and the vibe. This and every other jokbal joint I've tried so far has my heart ♥
Trivia : Jokbal is a dish that is shareable, it served in large portions, and is often eat it wrapped in a piece of lettuce with sauces and other vegetables.
The spicy jokbal with some soju and the company of good friends to chat away makes this a perfect catch up place. The food is neatly presented and everything is melt in the mouth. The ambience is cosy enough, basic and no nonsense. But a lovely place to chill and enjoy the good food. You may have to wait for seating though. There's plenty of meat which ever jokbal options you choose (limited but sufficient menu and a couple of other options than Jokbal too)
Try the spicy jokbal and the half and half pancakes. It's worth the price.

Read moreI had previously visited this restaurant's Toronto location, which is a very hip, vibey atmosphere, which I was expecting when I entered this store too. To my surprise, this restaurant looked like an ordinary Asian restaurant, and gave off more of a cozy vibe. We were confused as we didn't receive chopsticks even after the food was already on the table, but the waitress came over after 2 min and took the chopsticks out of a drawer in the table. I also found that the menu at this location was much smaller than the one in Toronto. My favourite dish, the basil cream tteokkboki, was not on the menu at this store. We ordered the 2-flavour seafood pancake, as well as the tteokkboki. Both dishes tasted great, and the pancake was massive, almost like a pizza! I had a great time dining here, however, I will recommend the Toronto location to anyone looking for a cooler, bar-like vibe, with a substantially...
