Visited recently due to being featured on social media for having the Dubai Croissant and as a local French bakery in the Scarborough area. La Bastille offers French pastries where all of their items are baked on-site and made directly available for sale through their retail store.

While one of their most popular items is the Dubai Croissant, their other baked items such as their other croissant varieties are also highly recommended. Their Pistachio Croissant is one of their butter croissants with pistachio paste and garnished with crushed pistachios, which overall was not overly sweet and is a great option for those who prefer a milder sweet taste. Other baked items include danishes, scones, muffins, tarts and breads that are available at the bakery.

Overall, it's definitely worth a visit just for the baked goods and for a taste of French pastries in the city. The bakery is mainly carryout only for the most part and they accept only credit cards on site. Also recommended to pre-order on their website if looking to order larger quantities especially since some of their pastries can be quite popular and sell...

Absolutely underwhelming! I have been looking forward to trying this bakery for a while and I finally made my way there this past Friday morning. One word ... mediocre, to say the least. I bought a sourdough baguette, a cinnamon pecan bun, a raspberry beignet, and a croissant. The croissant tasted stale, even though it definitely was not, not flaky at all. The cinnamon bun was alright, but really the same quality as what you can get at the grocery store. The raspberry beignet was okay, although it had way too much filling; I'm sure some people would like this, but the amount of filling made it super, super sweet. And the most disappointing of all, the baguette. An ACE baguette from the grocery store tastes better than this baguette. No crispy crust, not such sourdough taste, and just a bland, meh taste.

Too bad, I really wanted to like this bakery. The woman at the front was very lovely and the bakery has a nice inviting atmosphere, with some French music playing. It does feel like you are in a Parisian bakery when you step...

Loved everything I purchased. The girl was friendly and she knew all about the items i.jad questions about. Went back a second time, ready to spend over $200 for an event at the office... The female that was assisting me wasn't as friendly as the first lady. She was scratching her head over the baked goods, she has a very sour attitude and then told me I had to purchase a box or she would bag the items - a lot of the items that I was purchasing had fillings in it and if they were bagged they would either seep out or they would mess up the one on top. Because the first lady was smart enough to know that some of the items could be bagged, she boxed the items that needed to be boxed and bagged those that could have been bagged. This other lady just shrugged his shoulders and gave me a look. At that point. I just left everything that I had asked for and went elsewhere. I will be back and hopefully won't have to deal with that sour young lady. I will be back and hopefully won't have to deal with that...

I've been searching for a bakery for patisseries and viennoiseries in the Scarborough area and stumbled upon La Bastille. It's a distance from where I reside in but I'm always down to make a trip for good baked goods. They are very easy to locate as they're located right on Birchmount and have a parking lot with lots of spots available early in the morning. They offer a great selection of sweet and savoury croissants, muffins, danishes, scones, muffins and many sweets and loafs! So far, I've tried their croissants (almond, chocolate almond, butter croissant, kouign-amann, cruffin), scones (blueberry, cranberry and cheese) and their muffins (peach and blueberry). My favourites is the almond croissant and the scones! I have yet to try their beignets, danishes, their savoury croissants and many of the sweets in their beautiful display case!

A great spot in south Scarborough with amazing pastries and great service. Had a mille feuille, eclair, beignets, croissant and the kouign amman. Everything was top tier. The pastries were super flaky and the kouign amman was not super hard, but firm enough, which was just outstanding The Mille feuille isn’t an original style, which in toronto, there really isn’t one, but this take on the version was actually so good. The custard was nice and silky and the thin layers of pastry complimented it so well. Person helping me out was super friendly and saw me taking some photos and videos and offered to be out of the shot Definitely a great spot and will be coming back here with people I am gonna recommend to. Lots of parking available. Shop is a decent size but no dining in. Primarily a takeout store. Great job overall
