During our recent visit, the service unfortunately left much to be desired... the initial interaction with our server was less than welcoming. When I politely asked Him if I could substitute the usual fries for the broccoli cheddar soup as a side with my 5oz Bacon Sirloin, the server responded with a noticeably sneering look. This dismissive attitude was surprising and set an uncomfortable tone for the rest of our visit.
The 5oz Bacon Sirloin, ordered medium rare, arrived overcooked to medium well and was notably tough, with minimal seasoning and lacking any vegetable accompaniment.
-The Broccoli Cheddar Soup paired with Garlic Cheese Toast was a standout.... rich, creamy, and flavorful, with a comforting warmth that paired perfectly with the crisp and cheesy toast.
The 4 Cheese Spinach Dip was the highlight of the meal, boasting a rich flavor profile enhanced by a well-seasoned dipping sauce that complemented the creamy texture beautifully.
The Steak, Bacon, and Swiss Toasts were also enjoyable, cooked well and satisfying in flavor.
The Alfredo Chicken Pasta was underwhelming and bland, lacking the creamy richness and seasoning one expects from this classic dish.
The Poutine was average, with cheese curds that had an unusual flavor
The Bacon & Egg Avocado Toast was executed well, fresh and tasty, providing a nice balance of flavors and textures.
This is our third time at this location we and we have had nothing but bad service. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told that there was a 15 minute wait we gave our name and number. We asked if could wait in the bar area instead of standing in the door area.
One of the waitresses passed by told us that as we were waiting we were welcome to sit in the bar area however no one was going to serve us. We waited and waited.
Group of 5 guests came in and were seated within less than 5 minutes of arriving. Another group of guests arrived and were sited while we were ignored.
Managers words were everyone has had a long day and there was miscommunication amongst themselves. He claimed it was his mistake that were totally missed. Right about then waitress who had refused to serve us came over claiming she was coming to take our order.
Guests who arrived after that were not asked to wait this makes me think why were we discriminated against.
Seems every time we come to this restaurant their staff has either had a long day or are in a miserable mood.
Now coming to the order Ordered Belgium Moon beer however manager heard something else we did not get what we had asked for.
Ordered Caesar salad without bacon. We had to send it back for another one.
We had to ask for cutlery We also had to ask for side plates twice.
As for the bar tender / server totally ignored us.
As per the manager Thursdays are generally bad days for them.
Now you as the reader of this review decide if you want to come to dine at...
Read moreI'm not sure what has happened to Kelseys, perhaps a change of ownership, but I won't be returning. Kelseys has always been a reliable source of quality, from the service to the food. On this occasion, my wife and I were celebrating our twentieth anniversary. We wanted to try the new menu at Kelseys, from the moment we arrived, there were several cues that we ignored. From the unusual look to the outside curb appeal, the fact that once we got to our table that it had to be cleaned before being seated. Although our server was pleasant, the booth right next had a younger demographic, and their server seemed to have camped out there, all of which is none of my concern. Except for the fact that she had a habit of combing her fingers through her hair, a habit that clearly doesn't belong in the food service industry. I had ordered the shrimp Alfredo, which wasn't bad, but my wife had the salmon. It was served with broccoli and rice. The broccoli was undercooked while the rice was crunchy in parts, and the salmon was dry, I tried to cut it with a knife, and it was a struggle. Salmon should be flaky and moist, rich of flavour and texture. All of this could have avoided, had we just walked out in the beginning, we could've complained, but then what, a gift certificate for the future, not likely. It's no wonder why it was void of any character and a third of capacity. If I can suggest anything to the ownership, hire those who take pride in their work, from the service to the kitchen. We...
