I walked into this restaurant hoping for an authentic Mexican breakfast as opposed to a watered down North American version of Mexican food. I wasn’t disappointed.

My first surprise occurred when the “Eggs Rancheros” arrived. I was expecting the savoury tomato base to be red, right? No. Green. It was politely & sincerely explained to me that in Mexico the savoury base is made from green tomato. No problem. I wanted authentic. Well. I got it.

The green tomato sauce was lovely, the eggs perfectly done with spicing that’s not overpowering. Complimentary side dishes of Habanero Salsa & Jalapeño Salsa allowed me to add whatever other heat that my tastebuds wanted. I added too much of the Habanero🔥Salsa - my bad - I quickly needed to make fast use of the complimentary Sour Cream. 😂 Warning.

Another nice surprise with this dish is that I didn’t realize it’s served with mini tortillas under each egg. The eggs look & tasted very fresh - a point factor that’s important. FYI, I requested some Mexican cheese as an addition and they accommodated me.

The coffee is made Mexican style from Mexican coffee beans with cinnamon made from cinnamon sticks - as opposed to cheap cinnamon powder. I really liked their coffee, but wished that it was served in cute Mexican designed small pottery vessels for pouring fresh milk & cream. I wanted to be able to mix my own milk & cream in the coffee, but they don’t offer milk at this restaurant, instead only those tiny 10% creamery cups that diners & other places offer? This is the only reason that Food received a 4 star rating. The food menu and dishes didn’t disappoint, not having access to pouring my own fresh milk and cream into my coffee did.

This restaurant excels in something that is of primary importance to me when I walk into an establishment for the very first time. How I’m welcomed as a customer is paramount and the server who greeted me was warm & welcoming. I hate to pay for a meal if I’m served by a staff that is surly, rude, or unappreciative of their customers.

The chef, and the waitress (Abril) who is a sweet young lady who both seem to want to do everything in their power to make their customers happy. Seriously. For example, Abril eagerly ran clear across the room only to return with a different chair that she lugged back - simply because she thought that I would be more comfortable. She was correct. I dislike sitting in a metal chair that’s without a cushion to soften and warm the sitting experience. This establishment has a mix of both wood and metal chairs. it received 4 stars simply because - if the chairs are metal - it’s cold 🥶 and needs cushions IMOP. Abril listened to my suggestion with such sincerity and grace when I explained that she should suggest to the proprietor that purchasing colourful cushions will enhance the atmosphere plus the customers dining experience. I do want expect to pay for meals while sitting in discomfort. Yea. I know. I’m fussy that way & heartily dislike cold seating.

I can’t say enough good things regarding the service. 5 Stars. Simply stated, I really enjoyed the staff and as long as they get cushions for their metal & wood chairs (especially since winter is coming) then I’ll definitely return. The music was happy Latino with typical wonderful colours splashed across the walls and everywhere else ! ☀️ A great way to begin my day!

I hope that this review helps everyone out there in Toronto deciding where to go for Mexican food. As a first time customer this is as honest as I can provide having ordered one breakfast meal & coffee. Proprietor, go get comfy cushions for these colourful metal chairs and I’ll return, with...

I was here last night and had a fantastic experience. Right from the moment you walk into this place you’re properly and enthusiastically greeted by Lala, and while I’m not sure if she’s the owner, her energy and warmth are unmatched. That woman could easily give lessons on how to wait on a table of people. Awesome service.

The menu isn’t small but that’s a good thing at an authentic Mexican restaurant like this one, and yes, it’s actually authentic. They’ve got everything from enchiladas to tacos and all wraps and shells are corn based, none of that white flour nonsense. Good assortment of freshly made hot sauces, too.

The quality of the food is superb. Everything was flavourful yet incredibly balanced. There’s no doubt I’m going to try everything on that menu now that I’ve been there.

As cliche as it may sound, being here feels like being at a restaurant in Mexico, and I’ve been to that country twice so I’m not just saying it. This is an absolute gem.

I’d recommend anyone who likes Mexican to come here. You will...

We ordered Quesabirria (beef birria) which was nothing special only contained cheese and beef, other places usually has onions or cilantro this didn’t. Chicken Fajitas which came with tortillas 5 minutes after (when we were almost finished eating), and vegetarian tacos that did not match what was in the description. Also ordered sweet corn (as a starter) which came at the end of our meal lol! The place wasn’t busy either at 9.30 pm on a Monday. The server seemed lost perhaps she was new. They did remove the veggie tacos off the bill afterwords - there was a mishap with this as well. Pricing was also not reasonable - seemed downtown prices for less portions. Overall really bad and seems hyped by TikTok influencers. Avoid go to other trusted halal places - oh that reminds me initially we asked the server of recommendation on halal items, she mentioned everything is halal, which is not the case as they have pork...

FInally made it to Los Panchos earlier this week (their birria tacos were highlighted by torontofood.guide on Instagram) wanted to draw more attention to this great addition to the Weston Mexican food scene. I had the sopes which were crunchy and soft, decadent and fresh at the same time... Despite only having a snack, staff brought a generous serving of chips and salsa to start. If you like it hot, the red salsa was hotter than any I've had in the neighbourhood while still tasting like salsa and not like hot sauce (homemade and flavourful not just heat and acid). I forgot to take photos of the food, but as we were leaving, both wait staff and owner (pictured) came to apologize that some furniture was moved in while we were there (I barely noticed... it added to the friendly ambiance) but they still sent us home with a take-out order of flan on the house.

**Review for Los Panchos** I recently had the pleasure of dining at Los Panchos, a new Mexican restaurant perfectly located at Weston and Lawrence, close to the 401 and 400. My experience was nothing short of fantastic! I tried the Chicken Asada burrito and a salad, both of which were absolutely delicious. The flavors were vibrant and authentic, and the house-made green and red hot sauces added the perfect kick. Kudos to the kitchen staff for preparing such yummy food! A special shoutout to the owner, who personally took care of each customer and was open to feedback and improvements. This level of dedication truly enhances the dining experience. Overall, I give Los Panchos a solid 5 out of 5 stars. It's a must-try for anyone looking to explore Mexican food or seeking authentic Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
