Moon Congee Chinese Restaurant ( Downsview ) — Restaurant in Toronto

I've never left a review when I first had this a year ago - my dad brought home the preserved egg and pork congee i thought it was so delicious, the texture was like the home style , thick. deserved a 4 to 5 star

this Monday I just gotten my wisdom teeth pulled out and couldn't eat anything, my fiancée picked up some preserved egg and pork congee and it tasted the same like the last time I had it. Still consistent and true to how they previously prepared... I've been eating this for the 3 days until I ran out yesterday.

Asked my brother to pick up 3 orders to save him the trip and hoping it would last the weekend. When he came home I opened one of the containers and started mixing in the green onions and the pork/eggs sit at the bottom... I noticed the consistency was super watery and when I tasted it , it was so salty.

I checked the other containers they were all the same. this made me believe that there probably wasn't enough for 3 orders and they added water and salt for create more batches. If this WAS the case I don't believe its a good way to run a business. Customers trust in what they purchase but I'm feeling cheated for what we got yesterday.

I still think the food still deserves a 4 star as the only think that lacked was rice , too much water and salt to compensate the diluted congee

Usually not one to post reviews although I am hoping that this would help them improve their service in the future.

This restaurant is usually okay but for this visit, we were a little dissatisfied. Waited almost an hour for them to complete our order which wasn't a big order (usually takes them 20-25 mins to make). We understand that it does get busy especially since there were many calls being taken. The only thing I suggest is that when you are in the middle of taking care of a customer, please focus on that customer before taking another call especially if they have been waiting a while, (you could ask the callers to hold for a moment or just wait for them to call back).

Waited 7 minutes for the lady to finish a call for her to get to us (which we understood and waited patiently for). Then when we finally got to her, she takes a call in the middle of taking our order so we had to wait for her to finish that. Waited 30 mins for our food. Finally received the food but there was a mistake and had to rectify that. Then it took another 10 mins for our drinks to come because she took another call in the middle of almost completing the drink order.

The food was okay but the slush that we ordered was a little bland and some of the pearls were frozen. We've had them made better from this...

Ok food in my area. Ordered a handful of times. The food is typical food court style that one would expect at the mall vs a restaurant. Good place if you want something good for the price.

When ordering from Uber items were missing and my order (no shrimp) was wrong. So couldn't eat it because of allergies.

When ordering on their website it mentioned my order would be ready in 35 min. I arrived and they didn't have my order even though email confirmation came, making me have to wait another 45 min (perhaps they should have started my order before others who ordered after me? But put me back of the order list when I asked if they even started my order and showed them the email)

When ordering in person their credit card machine didn't work.

Three strikes, going to be ordering...
