Nova Era Bakery — Restaurant in Toronto

Don't order your wedding cake here. My wife and I ordered a custom wedding cake and it was never made/delivered. When we showed up to pick it up on the morning of our wedding, they had nothing for us, they had no excuses, and even now 2 weeks later, no answers. On our wedding day we were given cannolis, tarts, and other desserts to make up for it, but we didn't have our special cake. The cake was paid for in advance, and they never reached out to us to explain, apologize, or refund us. The staff on the other end of the phone were rude in dealing with the whole matter, and only after calling them in the following weeks multiple times, did they finally and reluctantly admit they had negatively impacted our wedding by misplacing our cake, and they offered us a 20% off coupon on our next purchase. I didn't choose to pay over 150$ for tarts, we ordered a cake, and the business did not fulfill their obligation. We have been ripped off. Got really sick after this visit. Please read and be aware. First experience here, I can say it was very unwelcoming, customer service is poor. If you don't speak Portuguese, the staff will make you feel weird and give you all sort of looks and unprofessional behavior / treatment. I walked in with my girlfriend, and we were not happy at all. Not to mention the prices are very, very expensive and the quality isn't good. We ordered 2 drinks, a hot chocolate and a cappuccino....they served it to us COLD, also ordered 2 small pastries and a surprise the bill was above $15. Seriously!! After we left, I went straight home as I got really bad stomach aches. Probably, the milk in my cappuccino was bad even though I specifically asked for almond milk. SMH, I will never visit again nor recommend this...

Bring me back to fond memories when I used to go to Nova Era Bakery on Bloor Street near Ossington.

I miss the way the community would all come together to this bakery. Early in the morning before work, for lunch, for a sweet tooth snack, early diner etc.

Visited Nova Era bakery for the first time in years tonight. since so many of them have closed down.

This Nova Era Bakery is snuggle away on Geary Avenue which is not be revitalize with many condo developments.

Enjoyed my custard tart and a nice cup of coffee.

Can't wait to come back and enjoy my very missed Tosta Mista!
