Oak Park Deli — Restaurant in Toronto

Wonderful Service! I really was not expecting it so I was happy. I was in the Don Mills area and was searching for Turkey Sandwich locations and Oak Park Deli was on the list. I reviewed the menu and I ended up wanting to try their Fish Sandwich. I have been wanting a fish Sandwich where I could add my topping choices so was glad that on Oak Park Uber Eats you can. I ordered fries, caesar salad (regular), and a double chocolate brownie. This area I have not ever been in. In Toronto we had a snow storm so there was snow piles everywhere so, I was hit with seeing the parking would be difficult. I made several block turns trying to find a space. There is a school across the street so, with the snow embankments made it a task. When I finally found a parking I saw it was filled with students buying their lunch. It didn't bother me but, I was excited to go in and see how the food is. Upon entering I was immediately greeted and with great courtesy which made my parking experience go away. The food was hot! I wish I had a good parking spot to eat the food asap but, I enjoyed the hot fries on my way. The fish sandwich was really good and the caesar salad too. Worst experience ever. So the first time I went, the poutine was pretty good, I ordered a large one to share with my friend around in december before the winter break. Second time I went? Different story. it was alright not as good but, on my way home eating it, i started to feel slightly ill, and around 5:00 clock my stomach started hurting really bad, Thank god I had my phone at the time because my parents went to my sisters concert at Secord Elementary School. After they left around 15 - 30 minutes later, I felt like throwing up. Long story short: I vomited 6 times in under 12 hours. NEVER going here again, the service wasnt that bad, the food gave me food poisoning and I couldnt eat at all but i somehow recovered the next day but still didnt have a good appeitite. Worst...

I decided to check out this place in an effort to try new restaurants in the neighbourhood. I read the reviews beforehand and they were really positive, which was encouraging. But, you never know with Google reviews these days! So, I went in and gave it a try. And holy moly, it was pretty good (even for a non sub sandwich person like me). I got the roast beef sandwich and I loved how fresh the bread and veggies were (not like subway where everything somehow tastes the same). The shop is tucked in the middle of a neighbourhood, and is quaint, but surprisingly busy (which speaks to how good the food is). And it may be family run.
