Finally had the chance to try Friday Burger after hearing so much about its quality and philosophy. I tried the Double Friday Burger, Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and Carolina Burger. Overall, the quality is solid. However, there’s a catch for those who aren’t fans of pickles. The beef burgers have a complex pickle presence with a strong vinegary note that dominates the flavor. The meat is cooked really well, but if you’re not into pickles, you might want to opt for Chicken Sandwiches or look elsewhere. Comparing Friday Burger directly to Burger Drops isn’t fair since they’re different beasts. Friday Burger has its own sauce and pickle philosophy, which adds a unique kick with strong presence unlike Burger Drop. Personally, as someone who prefers as less presence of sauce and condiments as possible, I’d choose Burger Drop for a more straightforward burger experience and keep Friday Burger for when I want to spice up my day. The chicken sandwiches are juicy with a hint of crunch from the thin batter, which I liked. However, I wished it was a tad crispier. Between the Buttermilk and Nashville Hot Chicken, the latter wins with its more complex flavor profile. For some reason, it was rather challenging to admire the Buttermilk Sandwich. Now, onto the sides. The French fries and pickle fries were a real letdown. frozen Cavendish fries just don’t match the quality of the burgers especially when the fresh cut fries as nearly standard at this price range nowadays, and the pickle fries, made from slices, lose their tangy juices. Whole pickles might have worked better. Service-wise, the staff did their best despite the rush of orders, but a bit more attentiveness would have been nice. FBC is indeed the great spot for a burger with a unique twist, but I’ll probably be avoiding the...
Read moreNo hate- just feedback. It’s a 2.5- 3 from me.
Service was friendly, for the most part.
Took the family. Ordered Friday fries, Onion rings, Friday Double, Friday Burger, Nashville hot chicken, a buttermilk fried chicken and a strawberry cheesecake milkshake. $90+ incl a decent tip.
Burgers were ok. Fresh ingredients, served hot. Friday Fries- Frozen Cavendish krinkle cut with their Friday sauce and green onions- meh.
Milkshake- ridiculously sweet and thin. Almost undrinkable- perhaps work on the ratios- and stick to’em.
The main issue was with the Nashville (marked on the box) and the buttermilk fried. My wife (who ordered the buttermilk) asked why is this so spicy? Buttermilk should be a simple, not overly seasoned fried chicken sandwich. We thought we mixed up the sandwiches. Took a bite of each. Absolutely NO difference- None. We asked the cash and said- there is no difference. Instead of offering to redo he asks “Is it ok for you to eat?” Well- it’s edible- but is sure as shot is not what we ordered. Then when leaving tells us about the one having cayenne and something or other. He’ll talk to the owner about the recipe… What are we- idiots? you trying to gaslight us? How about- you f’d up? If that’s your buttermilk FC sando- just call it a spicy chicken sandwich or Nashville hot. Me, my wife, my 12 yr old- said the same thing: it was the same damn sandwich.
I wish...
Read moreThis review I’m leaving is no insult to the people working there, but I think I have noticed a change in food service over the course of a month. There would be changes in deals to, I think, drive more business and the like, but I think what I just experienced was kind of insane lol. I have ordered this Wednesday special before… about 2-3 weeks ago, and the amount they gave me for the onion rings was a normal size. Both times I got this special, I called ahead for pick-up. This time when I called, I believe it was a newer person working (which is fine), and I asked for today’s special. I think she needed to validate it with a manager, but she did and got back to me and said it’s going to be the today’s special version and not the regular size. I didn’t think too much of it, but I found it wild to open my bag and see like 2-4 pieces of onion rings per cup. (I know I only have one set, but that’s because I handed the other two sets of the special to people I got the food with.) I just think going forward, it should probably be stated that the customer is getting a...
