La Famiglia on Dunford – A Decent Spot with Excellent Service I recently visited La Familia on Dunford, and overall, it was a decent experience. The place itself has an old-school feel and could definitely use some renovation, but it was still comfortable. One thing that stood out was the service—absolutely top-notch. Every staff member was attentive, checking in to see if I needed anything and making sure I was enjoying my meal. It’s rare to find that level of care these days, so that was a big plus. As for the pizza, I went with a 14-inch Canadian. It came loaded with pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, and cheese—a solid combination. The taste was good, but I’d rate it a 6 out of 10. Maybe I just didn’t pick the best option on the menu, so next time, I’ll try something different to get a better sense of what they offer. Despite the minor downsides, I liked the place. If they freshen up the interior a bit, it could be even better. Would I come back? Probably, but I’d go for a different pizza next time.

The only thing about this spot that makes me mad, is that I didn’t know about it sooner as an East Ender / Beacher. This is handmade but like you can taste it is and that’s a very very very good thing. The slices here are about $5 which is a steal and they may look odd in the case but wait till they’re heated. This may be in my top 20 slices of pizza I have ever had. The ingredients are fresh and you can tell. The crust is thin and crunchy but also chewy. They have a condiment station so you can dress up your slice. This place served me the best chicken bacon ranch slice of pizza I’ve ever tasted. My partner got the lasagna slice and the ricotta was whipped and ground meat perfectly seasoned. They offer a variety of other foods as well. This is a mom and pop shoppe that’s got it right! Good pizza, I promise you are going to like it! Good for your wallet and your tastebuds.

1st time ordering from here and never in my life have i ever had a lasanga with this much cheese they go real heavy on the Mozza. so cheesy that you just keep on chewing. I didn't feel as if it was well blanaced with the portions of meat sauce, pasta and cheese. I wouldn't recommend the garlic parmasean wings either no crisp and i kinda feel like they taste as if they don't wash their chicken (I'm sorry for saying that if you do) But there's something about them that taste off to me. Loved the garlic knots. Might try a pizza next time.

We decided to try them again but last time all we ordered was several orders of chicken wings and a panzerottis and they forgot the meatballs. We went based on these reviews and ubereats' reviews. We were quite taken back because our experience and the quality of everything didnt add up to these "reviews" whatsoever at all. Everything is very very average at best quality at the end of the day. Makes you wonder how real authentic the reviews really are?! Long story short pizza is very mediocre.. not much flavour.. taste like paper cardboard very bland. Perhaps you really need to add a meat type to this particular pizza to make it best! No substance nothing to it though. The large tossed salad was ok decent not special and pricy at $13 and very basic plain. The cheese calzone was ok but the dough way much too thick and quite heavy. Its supposed to be cheese calzone but it seemed there was some other cheese like ricotta or feta like some other heavy cheeses inside other than mozzarella. Lastly baked ziti was terrible. Very low quality. no subtance. I should know better never to order any pasta that is oven baked with cheese on top. Extremely heavy. Too much cheese. The garlic knots was the best thing we had so I doubt we will be back or maybe give them another try but I would totally stay away from all of there baked pasta dishes that put cheese on top of the pasta and than bake it. Lasagna is the only "baked pasta" that prob makes sense and tastes good which maybe I will try later. I think at the end of the day I will stick to Abruzzo or Dantes or something.. you can never go wrong althought they are not near by. Last time we had ordered they forget our meat balls and we mentioned it and they failed to include it this time when we told them...

Here is an email I sent to the establishment, pretty self explanatory: I'd like to make you aware of a situation. You have not gained a customer. I would say lost a customer but I was not a customer to begin with.

While looking for a new place to order food, we came across your establishment and was ready to try bases on other customer reviews.

When I called to place a pick up order, I stated as much and asked if there were any specials first. What happened next is appalling as a potential customer: I was told "Im too busy". I was stunned and relied " excuse me?" And was told "I'm too busy to talk to you, go to the website".

It was said so rudely, I was immediately turned off from even wanting to place an order. I replied with forget it.

First: what if i didnt have internet? What then? How am I as a potential new and repeat customer supposed to pay money to your business for your product?

Second: I had been on the website, however how do I know if there might be an in store special I am not aware of.

Third: the level of disrespect that came across was such that I will never parton your establishment, I will actively advise my fellow " foodie" friends of this first and most negative encounter, and I will be posting negative reviews online.

Just making you aware of this situation in hopes that you will in future have a little more respect for your paying customers.

If you don't have time to take telephone orders then don't answer. If you prefer customers place orders online only, then don't have a phone at all. I get businesses get busy but that doesn't excuse rudeness to...

Worst pizza I have ever had by a long shot! I ordered a Canadiana Party Platter for $44 and what a HUGE disappointment and makes me think the reviews for this place may not be real? First off they use "crumb bacon" rather than real bacon and I didn’t think to ask before ordering or I would have passed and saved my tastebuds much grief and agony.

The crust was a dried piece of shoe leather and tasted like some cheap, prepackaged DIY shell pizza you would buy at the grocery store but was already a week old. The crust was a little too perfect and looked like it was mechanically pressed rather than made by hand or the crust would be uneven. The Pepperoni lacked in flavour but it did have a decent amount of cheese on it unlike many other chains which cheap out and the sauce was pleasant enough.

The Pizza was ready fast (another area of concern as really good places should always be slammed) and the guy at the counter was friendly. I would have returned this abomination but I have worked in Kitchens before in my teens and I know what they do to people whom complain or send...
