Ok so either it was an off day for the resto or the quality has gone down drastically since the last time I came w/ friends a couple years ago??

There was so little beef in the bowls (didn't look like the same amount of protein as their menu pictures at all)!

My gf ordered thick noodles. These were the densest, hardest noodles I think we've tried in recent memory. I'm talking not only undercooked but also the dough was so firm that the noodles just didn't taste good. They were too firm and .... rubbery almost? I got classic thickness with my bowl and the noodles were fine (my gf traded with me halfway cuz she couldn't stand the texture of hers).

I would also have to echo the recent sentiments that the soup tasted watered down. I rmbr the broth having much more flavour on my last visit.

The portion sizes also seem to have decreased as well. The bowl was the same size as before (and they also filled it to the brim with soup), however, the amount of noodles and beef altogether was a LOT smaller.

The pan fried chicken dumplings we ordered were frankly, very underwhelming. The bottoms didn't get enough time in the pan as there was ZERO crunch and the filling wasn't seasoned enough as well. The best pan fried dumplings I've had squirt juice out when biting in. I'm not even taking that into consideration since these dumplings were already lacking crunch to begin with lol.

Service was very good. The lady who took our order and brought us the bill gave us 5% off cash discount.

Ironically, I recalled this location being BETTER than the location at Yonge and Sheppard. Omni Palace is undoubtedly better if this visit was any indicator. The resto was also nearly empty when we came during prime dinner time on a thurs. Only 3 tables were occupied which is a red flag to me given how bustling this place used to be during peak dinner hours.

Based off this dining experience, I'm hesitant to return again. My friend usually only ever orders the stir fried lamb noodles when he comes here. Maybe he's on to...

Got the spicy beef stew and it was just amazing and so flavourful (minus the excessive whole szechuan peppercorns considering Szechuan wasn't mentioned anywhere on the menu handed to us) with a decent amount of meat. The fried lamb dumplings weren't that great even though they were recommended by our server, and yangchow fried rice was just ok, not very flavourful but maybe that's how it's meant to be. Would've given the place 4 stars if not for all the other issues with this place...

First, it was a hot summer day and there was absolutely no air conditioning or fans. Second, because it was our first time here and we were unfamiliar with many dishes, we needed our servers' inputs. However they seemed to be confused with our questions or just unaware of what each dish actually contained. Third, we got no soup spoons with our meal, just plastic disposable spoons which made it difficult to spoon out or drink the broth. I didn't realize this was not the norm here until I looked at the restaurant pictures on Google later. The last issue I had was the steep prices here. For us it was around $50 for 2 people, with just a few bites of rice as leftovers. You may be able to justify the prices with the good/fresh quality of the meal. However, I'm not sure you can justify the price considering the other service issues. We left the place with our bellies full but were eager to...

Normally, I have good experiences here. Along with their noodle soup, I love their dumplings and the stir fry beef with broccoli. I've gotten both takeout and dine-in and typically don't have any complaints, especially because they are fully halal.

However, I had a negative experience tonight. I called and ordered takeout and was told 15 minutes over the phone. I got there after 14 minutes, I was told it would be ready in 5 minutes. I waited for 20 more minutes and still didn't receive anything, but I saw people that came in after me and were dining in and received their food within 10-15 minutes of ordering. When I inquired again as I was running late, then the waitress went to the kitchen and spoke to the chef. She returned and said, "They're cooking it now." I asked if they just started making my dish, and she confirmed. At that point, I just asked for a refund so I could leave. I got only 1 dish refunded, as the dumplings were ready and waiting for a while.

I was very disappointed with my experience tonight. I don't have a problem waiting for 20-30 minutes, if I'm told. But being told 5 minutes and having to wait more than 40 minutes for the chef to start preparing a dish...

We came here a little while back and the food was quite good at at reasonable price. Although they have a few rice options, I think if you're coming here, get the noodles! There's different types and thicknesses and the "thick-round" (middle option in 2nd row in menu pic) is the way to go. The noodles are made to order and you can see as the chefs make them behind the glass / kitchen area. I got the traditional Lanzhou noodle soup (N1), but I think the mushroom chicken noodle soup (N5) that my wife got was excellent! I will add though that some of the items in the "Salads & Appetizers" section (S1, S3, S5) are a bit spicy even though it doesn't show the little red chilli in the menu, so if you have little kids that can't tolerate any spice, you need to watch out for this.

Recently tried it; If you’re craving authentic, chewy, and perfectly textured hand-pulled noodles, Omni Noodle in Scarborough is a must-visit. They are certified Halal. The noodles are made fresh right in front of you, giving them that irresistible springy bite that you just can’t get from store-bought. The rich, flavorful broth and generous toppings complement the noodles beautifully, making every bite a comforting. I loved the braised beef bowl with thin noodles; loved the Kung Pao Chicken over rice; loved the beef bun anr It’s a perfect spot for noodle lovers who want both quality and authenticity in one bowl.
