Me and my wife had a poor experience on November 13th (see image attached) lots of cartilage in my wife's chicken on the rocks. We contacted the Finch Osmows where we purchased our meal via phone and a girl named Reet informed us that we would get a free meal on our next visit. Today, December 7th, 2021 we went back to that location to claim our free meal and also order something else however the girl working there ( I believe it was Reet) informed me a girl had already shown the images I presented and claimed the free meal. I called my wife on the phone and she confirmed that she had not claimed the meal. The girl at the counter insisted that the meal had already been claimed. I suggested that someone else may have had a similar issue and claimed there meal, but it was not us. She insisted that she had seen the images I presented and the meal was claimed. I was shocked and did not know how to respond in the moment so I proceeded to place my order ( Medium Chicken on the Rocks and a Super Chicken Shawarma Wrap) and informed her that she could do whatever she wanted in terms of our free meal. I was given a $2 discount. Once our meals were prepared and packaged I asked the girl if I could make a suggestion and I suggested that in future when someone is promised a free meal they should write the customers name and phone number down. Once that person has claimed their meal they can remove them from the list. I also stated that I felt like she accused me of being a liar by suggesting me any my wife had already claimed our meal. I felt extremely embarrassed as there were many other customers in the restaurant at the time. I told her I was disappointed by the customer service that was being provided. She insisted that the $2 off was adequate, I explained to her getting $2 off compared to a free meal which is worth $10 was not adequate. After some back and forth I left feeling very upset that it was implied that I was a liar. This is a restaurant that we visit frequently and we also hold a Osmows loyalty card. Read moreSooo I'm usually a very kind and understanding person. Saying that I do not like this particular location. Hygiene practice was almost non existent. I seen the workers who were handling food at the register then back to touching food, handling tongs and other common utensils used by the cooking staff. Then watched one worker touch anothers shirt with a container of fries in hand with some fries hanging out the side.i then watched yet another worker wipe up the counter with a napkin and place said napkin on someone's food container while taking it to the trash. The entire time I was there I didn't see anyone who was switching tasks wash there hands. Now onto the food itself I got the beef shawarma poutine, I've had this from other locations in the past and it was delicious and the servings were generous. This location gave very little fries, very little cheese curds(if your a poutine lover you know a poutine has to have a good amount of cheese curds).they put the beef on top and squished it all down instead of just letting it be. This is an issue when you squish down the beef on the fries the sauce, flavors and cheese doesnt really get to your fries and you gotta dig your fries out not pleasant. The beef was not as good as other locations I've dined at before and the staff was much better with their customer service and had a designated cleaner to make sure surfaces were clean and disinfected frequently. Read moreFirst of all, I ordered through Doordash and my order took over an hour just to come. My Dasher was literally near the location and then he turned around and was just driving by the area in circles. I called the restaurant to check up to see what was going on with my order and the worker on the phone kept pretending that she couldn’t hear what I was saying. I kept yelling through the phone and was repeating the question to her over 6 times. I had to tell her to give the phone to another worker or a manager, in order to get a direct response from her. I ended up calling Doordash and apparently the dude had the wrong address, despite me having a screenshot of the GPS stating that he was near the location. I get my food and it was extremely cold. The rice and fries were extremely saggy and I didn’t get my extra garlic sauce that I ordered. To me it looked like my order was in the Dashers car for an extremely long time. I know I’m suppose to review this on Doordash instead, however I am also extremely disappointed with how the worker handled everything, and the way my food was delivered to me all saggy and unfresh.
I usually have good experiences when I go to or order from Osmows. I think it’s just this location that isn’t very the best. The Osmows in malton and in front of the lakeshore campus at humber are 10x better. I will stick to just going to these two locations instead.
