I have been a repeat customer at Pizza Land with my family because we really enjoy the food—it’s always very good, and we have always respected the effort of the owner and chef. Unfortunately, the customer service at the front has been consistently disappointing, to the point where it makes us reconsider coming back. For example, today (September 24), we arrived at 8:10 PM. The restaurant closes at 10 PM, and when we called ahead to ask for a booth by the window, we were told we could sit anywhere since the place wasn’t busy. However, when we got there, the cashier insisted we could only sit on the other side of the restaurant, near the washrooms. When I explained multiple times that my mom enjoys sitting by the window, he still refused and said we couldn’t because he had already cleaned those tables. Because of that, we ended up leaving and went to a nearby restaurant, Chain Smoker, where the service was welcoming and did not disappoint at all. This kind of attitude at Pizza Land is unacceptable. Customers should never feel like they are an inconvenience for wanting to sit in a clean, available spot—especially when the restaurant is still open for nearly two more hours. Small issues like this, repeated, are what drive loyal customers away despite the good food. I’m sharing this feedback in the hope that it helps improve your front-of-house service, because we truly do enjoy your restaurant otherwise.
UPDATE (Reply To Business): Thank you for your reply. I understand the need for deep cleaning, but in this case the explanation doesn’t add up — the tables by the window were already dry when we tried to sit there. We had called ahead and were told we could sit anywhere, yet when we arrived, we were still refused.
This wasn’t about sanitation, it was about poor customer service. As loyal customers, it’s frustrating to be turned away from a clean, empty section of the restaurant two hours before closing. Good food deserves equally good service, and I hope you can address this with your staff so others don’t have the...
Read moreThe two owners at this restaurant are nothing but disrespectful. I came into this restaurant not aware of their policy where if you order over the phone, you cannot dine in. I have never heard of such a policy thus I was not aware how serious the policy was. I explained that I called out of convenience because my 3 little ones were hungry- which I normally do since they’re small and never had an issue. But both the owners screamed at me that their policy was such and that it’s been around for 18 years. I explained that I was not aware and even offered to pay extra since it was their policy and since my 3 little ones were hungry. But they did not budge. All they did was scream at me which resulted into a screaming match. Owners at Pizzaland, i will never step foot into your restaurant nor recommend it to anyone ever again. You posses such a horrible attitude and disgusting behaviour. You had no mercy or shame nor have any understanding that I was not aware of this policy and screamed at me in front of my children. They also claimed that everyone in “the community” referring to Muslims, take advantage. In what world would someone take advantage of dining at your restaurant, paying for your food and in my case, I offered extra money as there was a misunderstanding. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. Their service is horrible and Adil, one of the owners is sexist. He was so comfortable screaming at me in front of my kids but when my husband called to inquire about the issue, he spoke to him respectfully. Fix your attitude, values and have a heart. Not everyone is aware of...
Read moreI went to Pizza land with my family and unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience. I ordered a burger and fries and after waiting for a VERY long time it finally came. The fries looked good but the burger looked a bit off.. after taking the wrapping off the burger I noticed the lettuce was not fresh and after a bite I knew something was wrong. There was a foul smell coming from the beef patty.. similar to a dirty cloth....perhaps the ground beef was sitting on a dirty counter etc... I notified the staff right away.. I am not one to make a spectacle about much but this was something i had to speak out about because I could not continue eating it and I was really hungry. The staff seemed to understand at first and went to the back to speak with his superior... He came back to my table to tell me that it was not their issue and that they sold over 100 of these in the past few months therefor I was not going to be given another burger or different sandwich.. i was shocked to say the least... he then continued saying that it was just a mix of spices that I was mistaking for that "foul smell"..... and if i wanted to just "buy another sandwich" at this point i was already disgusted by how they controlled the situation and did not want anything from this restaurant..... as an Arab myself I am no stranger to the different spices you can use with meat and this did not smell anything close to it.... I hope nobody gets sick eating at this restaurant and I will definitely not be coming back...
