Pizza Pizza — Restaurant in Toronto

I am writing to bring attention to a recurring issue I’ve experienced at your Pizza Pizza location at 41 Lapsley Road, Scarborough.

On May 25, 2025, I visited the store to order the "Large 2-Topping Pizza + 8 Wings" special that was advertised on the Pizza Pizza website for $19.99. However, upon placing the order, I was informed by the cashier that I needed to pay an additional $2, bringing the subtotal to $22.19 and a final payment of $25.07 after taxes (receipt attached for reference). When I inquired about the reason for the additional charge, the staff was unable to provide a clear explanation.

This is not the first time I have encountered this discrepancy, and I feel it is important to raise this for awareness and correction. It is misleading to advertise a specific promotional price online only to charge more in-store without justification, especially at a large and reputable chain like Pizza Pizza.

First thing, I walked in and no one was at the front ccounter. The person who did take my order cashed me out and then with the same glove that he had on from the back of the establishment, began to take the chicken out of the container and into the fryer. I had to say Hey! Excuse me can, you change your glove. That's not hygienic. His response was oh, sorry I'll use the tong instead. While the employee was pleasant, I shouldn't have to say hey hey, can you change your glove?!!! He already knew better, based on his response. In food services there should never be an "instead" moment when it comes to proper food handling. It is proper food handling EACH AND EVERY TIME. As someone who's managed restaurants before, I was appalled. When handling food of any kind, ones gloves should be changed with every interaction with food to avoid cross contamination and proper hygiene and cleanliness. For goodness sake this is taught in basic training. You have to 100% change this...

I wanted to give it minus star as my roommate ordered a pizza for delivery at my place and one pizza was burnt and we ask pizza pizza to resend their order. And when the driver came to the building and i personally went out to recieve the pizza but the pizza driver talk to me in wrong way and ask me to send the same guy who recieved pizza before even though i told him i am his friend. But he was not listening them we call pizza pizza and complaint this but the girl on the phone also told us that u go to the lobby or else i will cancel the order. Then again i went out to recieve pizza and i told driver that this is not the way to talk to ur customer and he left without giving pizza. Again we called the pizza pizza and they said if u want ur pizza u can come and pick up from the store driver is not feeling safe to deliver pizza. That is the worst customer service provided by this store. And we didnt get our pizza even we already have...
