I don’t fully understand this place, beyond it being a venue to host sporadic events due to the parking and large halls. There is a senior centre in the basement that’s slightly hidden, but can see it being great for 60+ people to play pingpong and hangout.

Yet for it to be a ā€˜centre’ it is sorely lacking in actual activities / classes for general public to pop in and be part of (like the Korean and Japanese Cultural Centres) and while there are some city events held at Burrow Halls Community Centre next door, it’s not like the CCCGTA can take credit for them when there’s not even a door open connecting the two. It’s almost built to shut the public out which is confusing?

Beautiful art in staircase, but really was hoping for more permanent exhibits and ways to engage as a Chinese person rather than just the events now and then. Also, why does it seem so many community events held on Sunday mornings/afternoon and not other days? Also for very short time frame of just a few hours, so if I have any other conflict at all (like church) then I’ve missed it 😢

Still, glad this exists, but does feel like it could have just been any other large venue hall and not really a general gathering place for Chinese Culture in the city as things are geared more towards seniors/elderly and not younger people or...

UPDATE & REVIEW REVISION: Thank you for replying with detailed information! Greatly appreciate the explanations and it will help several parents understand much better!

I was just informed below the photo policy is based by the person who books the room. But this could be as simple fix as having notices with recommendations like: No flash Screen brightness at lowest option Minimize disruption to other attendees Keep recording sessions short Be mindful of your surroundings Respect people next to you Speak to your organizer if you have questions regarding specific policies as the centre is not responsible for them.

Parking is difficult and the city of Toronto should look into it. Nearby street parking is monitored closely and tickets are given out.

I like the cleanliness of the venue, the large amount of space it provides as it doesn’t feel crowded, it’s well ventilated and has...

I was invited by a friend to watch My Mulan. The tale of Mulan is quite inspiring and their rendition did not fall short. They tried to incorporate dancers of all ages - which I admired, it gives them the opportunity to showcase their talent and to grow into future performers. The dancers they had who played the adult character especially adult Mulan danced with such grace to which it appeared as she was dancing by gliding through the air. The gentleman who played Shang was equally talented. The premise of my mulan is to demonstrate that there is a "Mulan" within everyone who can surround adversity. The performance has the potential to rival the lion king if there was more focus on the actual mulan story. The showcase of talent was good and I look forward to their future...

The outside of the Chinese Cultural Centre is pretty plain. The inside is somewhat pretty with some nice decorations. The person at the desk, an older Chinese man is... Rude if your a Chinese person. If you speak Chinese to him, he rudely barely responds back to you and ignores you. I watched the exchange between him and my mom. I didn't ask him anything in English. Not sure if I wanted to in the first place. We only went in to see what was the place all about. And asked the desk person what the place is about. And he was pretty rude about it. Overall, inside was pretty Chinese decorations. Nothing was actually open though. Chinese front desk person was rude. Not sure if I want to come back again.

Cathedral Bluffs Orchestra of Toronto Attended a concert of Beethoven's Ode to Joy with full orchestra and two choirs and four soloists. The performance was amazing the conductor, Martin MacDoland was very energetic, The musicians, the choirs and the soloists all played their best. The full theatre audience reacted with a long standing ovation. There is plenty of free parking, the prices range from 38 for seniors and students and 48 anywhere in the Theatre and during intermission they serve free snacks like cheese, strawberries, grapes and red and white wine šŸ· šŸ˜‹ See videos and pictures.
