The pupusas are OK but I've had better in Toronto, and the rest of the food is unremarkable, especially for a main course at $15. Not sure if the server was overwhelmed but she wasn't exactly friendly to us (native speakers of Spanish, mind you). More annoying was that on a Saturday at 6pm, the place was already packed with boisterous men drinking beer and talking, shall we call it, "men's talk," shouting over the music cranked up to the max. Too many drunks so you can't go with a girlfriend or the wife, unless you are a calm person and is ready to put up with nonsense. Since it was Tuesday, they had pupusas on special for just $3, and we also tried the chicharrón with yuca, sopa de res (a hearty beef and vegetable soup), and pastor tacos. Everything was delicious!
The location might seem a little off the beaten path, but that just added to its charm. It’s owner-operated, and the service was warm and welcoming. Definitely a great spot for anyone craving Salvadoran...
