I contemplated whether or not to leave a review, but given my deplorable experience at this restaurant, I felt compelled to share my story. The realization of how terrible the entire ordeal was only dawned on me when I recounted it out loud. It all began with my friend and me ordering our dinners, specifically requesting that our side (a salad) be served before the main meal. The waitress agreed, but when our main meal arrived, the salads were nowhere in sight. Th waitress then asked us if we had received out salads, we told her no. The waitress apologized and mysteriously produced a potato from seemingly nowhere as compensation for her oversight, meaning she knew the answer because where did this random potato come from?
As the evening unfolded, the Caesar salads arrived with no bacon. When I questioned this, the waitress insisted that bacon was not a typical inclusion, yet upon glancing at the neighbouring tables, all their Caesar salads featured bacon . I dismissed it, thinking they might have requested it (later realizing that on our bill the "no bacon"button was clicked but okay).
Finally I looked down at my own meal and discovered it was not what I had ordered. Despite my friend and I selecting the same dish. I brought this to the waitress's attention, expressing my willingness to keep the incorrect meal but emphasizing that I think it was more expensive than my original meal (by $26.00). Surprisingly, she informed me that if I opted to keep it, I would be charged for it, I asked her if it will go into the garbage if I sent it back and she said yes.
In an absurd turn of events, she proposed removing the extra item (that make my meal more expensive, which was the pasta) from my plate and replacing the missing components. I asked her if she meant she would physically take the bowl of pasta sitting in front of me off my plate into the garbage and then get the kitchen to cook the missing item from my plate. She said yes.... Although perplexed, I reluctantly agreed. As I began eating the replacement salad, I was met with disbelief as I discovered a substantial hair on my plate. Amused by the incredulity of the situation, I flagged down the waitress once more. She promptly took away the contaminated salad and put down the shrimp the kitchen cooked (this was the missing item from my plate) I looked down and immediately identified the shrimp was raw, I again flagged down the waitress and she removed the raw shrimp, which was the missing menu item. The manager approached, making light of the situation with a joke about an "extra ingredient" in my salad and offering a replacement. Declining the offer, I was informed that the salad would be removed from my bill, which, given the circumstances, seemed inconsequential.
To add a touch of generosity, the waitress offered us ice cream. When the bill arrived, the salad was omitted, and I received a mere 10% discount on my overall meal. This entire experience felt like a farce, and I have no intention of dining at this establishment again.
Shame on you for this being your standard of care at...
Read moreI seriously only leave reviews when it’s needed. Unfortunately, my experience at this location this evening Saturday,October 18th was very disappointing. The server who assisted us was not kind or attentive. She was an attractive middle-aged blonde woman with unnaturally white, possibly fake-looking teeth, but I wasn’t able to get her name because she didn’t seem interested in engaging with us. I apologize for my description of her.
At one point, she forgot to bring out the fries I had ordered on the side. When I mentioned it, instead of simply saying, “Sorry, I’ll get that right out for you,” she replied, “You didn’t order fries.” I said that I did, but she walked away before I could finish. My husband was there as well and can confirm that I ordered fries on the side along with green beans for our toddler. I had to call the server back and ask if I could reorder them, and she just said “Sure” and walked off again.
I understand it was busy and I respect that working under pressure can be difficult, but there’s no excuse for being rude or dismissive. It really affected the experience and our celebration for the night,
Another issue was when our food arrived. She placed the plates directly in front of my toddler instead of in front of me or my husband? That showed a lack of awareness and care. The plates were very hot. I was in total shock. I know not all places are children friendly hence us going to red lobster to celebrate our special occasion.
I also noticed that the manager seemed to be going table to table asking guests about their experience that night, but my table was completely missed. It just added to the strange and unwelcoming atmosphere overall.
All in all, the service was poor and uninviting. I won’t be returning to this location and will stick to the Bay and Dundas one instead, where the staff are always friendly and...
Read moreLiving nearby, Red Lobster has been a convenient spot for our family to grab a bite for special occasions. To say our most recent dining experience was a horrible was an understatement. My husband and I brought along our son there Sunday evening for our anniversary dinner. We were ushered in to a corner table in the restaurant. My husband ordered the endless shrimp, I ordered a lobster and shrimp linguine, and we got the fish and chips kids combo for our son. On top of it, we had ordered mussels for starter (which tasted amazing). When the food came, we immediately noticed how the lobster pieces on my linguine were barely noticeable - it was more like a shrimp linguine with a sprinkle of lobster sheds. Then my son took a bite of his fried fish and refused to eat more. We tried the fish and realized why our little fish lover didn’t like his food: not only was the fish dry and rubbery, it also did not have any flavour to it. (We later told the waiter about the fish and he deducted it from our bill). Later came the problem with my husband’s so-called endless shrimp. He finished his first plate and had to ask other waiters to track down our waiter before he could ask for seconds. Then came another 10 minute wait for the shrimp, which he finished in a minute because he was so hungry. Yet the problem of waiting for our waiter came again - throughout our evening, we had to proactively look for our waiter. In fact, our waiter didn’t even once come by to refill our water nor asked if we wanted anything else. In the end, the celebration cake he said he was going to give to us for our anniversary never came. We were so fed up that we just paid our bills and left, and my husband was still hungry when...
