Disappointed and Confused by the Hype

I really don’t understand the glowing reviews for this place. I’ve given it a shot more than once, and each time has been a letdown. Most recently, I ordered the curry chicken and specifically asked for extra gravy—something I was more than willing to pay for. The woman serving me flat-out refused at first and argued with me for nearly five minutes before finally giving in and adding some oxtail gravy.

When I sat down to eat, I realized there was barely any actual chicken—just a pile of bones with a bit of meat here and there. The food itself was dry and lacked the flavor I expect from a Caribbean meal. Honestly, I left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied.

First time there and the food isn't to bad just wished the environment was more inviting. I find most older establishments are run down looking. I just wished our community would step up and spruce up the place with a more modern renovations to make the atmosphere more appealing and then offer healthier alternatives like instead of rice a large side salad or something. Just remember to have cash on hand when visiting they only accept cash and have a ATM machine inside. But overall the food was okay price was reasonable for now but the environment needs improvements. A nice paint job modern bathroom renovation and new seating and or tiling can go along way. This place is frankly one of the best food places in Toronto! The serving sizes are MASSIVE, all the food is under $20, and it's some of the most delicious food I've ever had!

I'd name a few of their best dishes, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to narrow them down, because practically everything you get there is going to be delicious. The food is incredible, the staff are all very kind, and this is my absolute favourite place to eat after a long day at work.

Update: eating more food from here and it's just as good as usual! Hands down the best place to get proper good food for cheap in Toronto. Make sure to give the lovely folks working there a hefty tip, because by god do they deserve it! Truly a hallmark of...
