Wow this place really surprised me in a good way. I eat A LOT of Indian food and while I usually tend to enjoy most restaurants, rarely do I ever go “oh my god this amazing”. Ruchy blew me away. First of all, the service is outstanding, the waitress and server were both really welcoming and on top of their game. My wife and I felt very well taken care of. For our appetizer we ordered Papadoms (huge portion!) Makhani Chicken, and Dhaba Walla Murgh as mains along with Green Peas Pulao, Roti and Naan, as well as a Mango Lassi to share. The Papadoms came with three delicious dips. To our surprise, they also brought us two free portions of a delicious Tomato Basil soup with an Indian twist, completely unprompted and oh my god, it was so good. The chicken dishes were phenomenal and had so much depth and flavour. The curry was rich and creamy and not full of oil as is the case in many other Indian restaurants. The best part for me was the Naan, which was honestly perfection. Best Naan I’ve ever had. Crispy outer shell and this beautiful soft and fluffy interior. I would come back here just for the Naan. We finished our mains and were ready to head out when they brought us a free dessert (it was my birthday). I didn’t expect this after already receiving a free soup earlier in the meal but I gratefully accepted. The dessert was their Elaneer Souflée. They only make 10 of these per day and you have to be kind of lucky to get one, and boy did I feel lucky once I started eating this. It’s smooth, light and coconutty with a hint of rosewater, not too sweet - just right.

I’m gonna stop myself here because I could keep gushing over this restaurant forever.

The pictures we took in low light don’t do it justice. If you like Indian food, this place is a MUST. If you don’t typically eat Indian food, it’s STILL a must. Just do yourself a favour and give it a try. Every dish we were served was perfection and made us go WOW. This never happens to me.

Thank you Ruchy for making my birthday dinner an unforgettable one. We will be back for...

We hosted our intimate wedding reception dinner at Ruchy and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make everything feel special, seamless, and stress-free.

A huge thank you to Ravi, the general manager, whose professionalism and kindness made planning the evening a breeze. He was incredibly responsive, accommodating, and thoughtful throughout the entire process. And a special shoutout to Anushree, our wonderful server and bartender for the night, who was attentive, warm, and genuinely cared about making sure our guests were well taken care of. Anushree truly was my maid of honour!! She cared for our family as if they were her own. I have no words to describe the sheer depth of our gratitude!

The food was absolutely delicious—authentic South Indian flavours that our guests are still talking about—and the ambiance was cozy and elegant, just right for our gathering of close family and friends. We are so grateful to the team at Ruchy for making our wedding celebration so memorable. Highly,...

There’s something quietly special about Ruchy. Named after a legendary folkloric chef and tucked into a beautifully curated space, this fine dining spot balances nostalgic Indian storytelling with modern elegance, from the typewriter and vintage piano, right down to the soulful flavours on every plate.

The Purple Potato Chaat was a refreshing twist on a classic — light, vibrant, and full of texture — ideal for anyone craving something healthy but not willing to skip the spice. The Chilli & Olive Naan was unexpectedly bold, fusing Indian tradition with a hint of Mediterranean flair.

Meanwhile, we couldn’t get enough of the Paneer Tikka Lollipop: creamy, tender, and unlike any paneer we’ve had in Toronto. The Lamb Roganjosh was rich, aromatic, and deeply comforting, the kind of dish you slow down for. And don’t miss the Boondi Raita: playful, flavourful, and a standout side in its own right.
