From the moment I entered Shibui Sushi Japanese Eatery, the welcome was so very genuinely warm. It's a small restaurant with a homely feel. The restaurant is clean, and decorated with Japanese artwork on the walls, plants and even a cool black chalkboard showcasing their daily specials, beer and sake options. They played a variety of different music that was all very enjoyable for the atmosphere and it catered nicely to the crowd. The food was good quality and presented in a tidy and artistic way, even the water they served was filtered.
Now the service is also something to make mention of; like I mentioned before, upon entry not only the servers, but the staff preparing the food behind the counter, looked up to say hello and offer the warm welcome I'm referring to. Everyone is genuinely friendly, and so respectful, and they are always paying attention to their guests to see if they are in need of anything at anytime. Your glass of water will never go empty. Like I said, the staff work together and help each other keep an eye out for the needs and wants of their guests. I would like to give a special show out and recognition to both Kaho and Shuma; thank you for your memorable hospitality. All restaurants would be so lucky to have staff like yourselves.
I give their food, atmosphere and customer service a 10 out of 10. I will definitely dine at Shibui Sushi Japanese Eatery again. I love when I can leave reviews Iike this. More restaurants should...
Read moreThe first time we went to this restaurant the food was incredible and the servers were attentive and kind.
The second time we went, they only brought out one of our meals and ignored us the rest of the time until it was time to bring us our bill. However, the meal they did bring out was incredible, but the one individual that received their meal felt sick in the hours afterwards.
We decided to give the restaurant another shot, hoping we were just sick from something else that day, but the third time we went to Shibui, we were sat and waited forever to be served. Two couples came in after us (about 10 minutes later) and we had still not been served. The couples both ended up being served and received their food and we still had not been served. We politely kept trying to get the wait staff's attention but they continually ignored us. We unfortunately ended up leaving because we had sat there for about 30minutes not being served while everyone around us was served.
Overall, the food is amazing, but the service...
Read moreI ate at this restaurant for the first time during a cold and snowy evening. We were immediately greeted by a friendly staff member who got us a table. The restaurant is small and intimate with only a dozen or so tables which is pleasant. The walls are decorated with Japanese art and calligraphy pieces.
I asked the waitress for a recommendation on tea and she suggested the honey tea with yuzu. It was AMAZING! We had a few appetizers including some delicious shrimp dumplings and their seaweed salad. The person I was eating with also ordered some calamari which came with a lovely sweet and slightly spicy sauce.
After the appetizers were done, we ordered our main course foods. These included various sashimi and three special sushi rolls. I asked the waitress for her recommendations on the sashimi and am very glad I did. She steered us to some great selections.
I loved our evening here. We never felt rushed and the waitstaff were all personable and kind. We will definitely be returning here...
