If you enjoy good food and a constantly changing beer menu, The Belsize Public House is definitely a great choice.
The pub is located near June Park and is close to several businesses.
For those arriving by public transportation, there are two bus lines that pass by the pub, and for those arriving by car, there are some private parking lots in the area and paid parking.
The pub has excellent facilities for groups, families, single travelers, and couples, and the staff provides excellent service.
If it's summer or spring and you're bringing your pet, rest assured that they'll be very welcome, as the pub has a patio where your pet can stay with you, and there will be fresh water for them.
For guests with disabilities or reduced mobility, unfortunately, the pub doesn't have many amenities: the doors are spring-loaded, but they don't open or close automatically; The restrooms are located in the basement and don't have grab bars or automatic doors, nor do they have Braille menus.
For families with children, the pub has a kids' menu, high chairs, and a changing table in the restroom.
The menu offers excellent food options, both appetizers and main courses. Their poutine is delicious, and the smores pie is simply incredible.
It's definitely worth checking out and adding to your list of places with good quality and...
Read moreI had been to The Belsize once and had a good experience, so suggested it tonight for dinner with a friend. I don't often feel compelled to write bad reviews of places, but tonight was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. It started out ok, but the girl behind the bar was clearly not engaged, and through the course of the evening the other staff would gather at the bar (right where we were sitting) and chat, share photos on their phones and - at one point - one of the girls was picking something out of one of the guy's beards. This was before she let out a burp in front of us. (Not an exaggeration). We had grilled calamari to start which was one of the blandest dishes I've ever tasted. They redeemed themselves with the salads we ordered and the fries were good but late since our server forgot to order them. There were maybe 10 other people eating inside at that point. I understand that this isn't fine dining, but I've been to a lot of similar places where the staff make an effort and clearly care. These people do not. I'm not sure whether there is a manager who just wasn't there tonight, but that shouldn't matter - no one seemed to notice or care that they were providing terrible service. Neither my friend or I...
Read moreI was local to this place doing some other shopping and my phone suggested it, having never been here I wasn't sure if it was a pub with minimal food and mostly drinking. The inside is far bigger than it seems, has a great boat or lake house feel to it. The service was amazing, my server was responsive and when i asked for garnish removal, I didn't get a it on the side when the dish arrived; which to me equates attention to detail. Perhaps the owner, but an older gentleman was working the floor and assisting as backup, that impressed me. Normally a manager is far from the action or above lifting a plate. I ordered the chicken wings in a maple sauce and they were the best wings I have had in this neighborhood of over a year living here. Cooked to the bone not mostly, breaded and marinated evenly without excessive fat or breading to hide low quality chicken, just fantastic. I also had the lamb burger w/ sweet potato fries, the lamb was cooked perfectly and without the slightest bit of fat. The fries weren't over greasy and had more of a baked texture. Again very well prepared. I visited noon on a weekday...
