Hate to write this. I was a very regular customer for 17 years! Always loyal. Told everyone Thobors made the best bread in the city. Over the 2024 holidays, I requested a custom order and Thobors accommodated. Unfortunately, 1/2 the order was not satisfactory. I informed Thobors and fully expected a credit on my next order (total value of $39). Upon picking up the new order, I was informed by staff that I would only receive a 5% discount on the new order, not $39. I left the new order with the shop and communicated my issue with the owners (Sylvie and Marc) - after multiple emails, they were defensive and simply said, "sorry to see you go". Unbelievable after 17 years of loyalty and thousands (seriously) of dollars being spent at the bakery. Very disappointing and sad position to for them take based on a $39 credit request.
There are many competitors that would like my business - we will see if new loyalty at another shop has any value, perhaps not but its certainly worth nothing at Thobors.
If customer service is a factor where you shop, you may want to reconsider Thobors.
Shame Sylvie and Marc are so short sited - I suspect their business will be at risk with this service attitude. I know of friends who have started to complain, even regarding the freshness of some of the fruit tarts.
They should have simply apologized for the error and credited me $39. If they had, the post would have been...

The woman (think she had dark brown hair, late 20s to early 30s) serving me didn’t think I would notice that one of the macarons were broken and she seemed to be trying to place it in the box so I wouldn’t notice. I had ask her switch it out, but later after I paid, I saw one of the macarons was significantly smaller and I’ve never seen them that size anywhere! I asked her about it and she said they’re all like that and that’s how they were baked. I decided to not bother asking for a refund or argue. She also dropped of one my packaged items on the floor and I think she switched it out, but I’m not fully certain.
Their cake and chocolate bar I got were okay. Their croissants are horrible! They’re not flaky or buttery and are too hard, dense, and tasted more bread-like and reminded me of supermarket croissants. I had fruit and cream on croissants too.
The au pain chocolate and quiches also didn’t look good so I didn’t buy them.
I haven’t been here in years and I recall why now. I usually go to other French bakeries not in this neighbourhood if I wanted decent French pastries.
I’m very disappointed after spending $50 and won’t be returning. Serving broken and defective pastries thinking customers won’t notice and dropping food is...
Read moreWe went to Thobors awhile back and remembered we bought the patisserie "purple rain," and loved it! We had a small wedding and decided this would be the place to get our wedding cake ("purple rain"patisserie)_. My partner is from Paris, and knew that the patisserie at Thobors was just like how she remembered back home and wanted Thobors to do our wedding cake. As well, we ordered a traditional croque en bouche. From beginning to end, Shanice was willing to make the "purple rain" for us and helped us decide on how big we wanted it and as well, with the croque en bouche. The day both arrived, we were amazed and at awe on how BEAUTIFUL they both were! The taste was superb and our guest went on and on how they thoroughly enjoyed both. The guests also appreciated the beauty in the style of the patisserie and croque en bouche and excellent attention to detail. Every part of the patisserie and croque en bouche had very fine delicate details that you could not miss. You could tell right away a lot of care was given to our special day. Purely amazing! Top notch! Thank you Shanice!...
