If you’re looking for a real croissant in midtown, this is the place you need to come. I could tell from one bite that they use quality ingredients. Staffs are friendly and the service is quick. They offer a variety of baked goods such as croissants, sourdough breads, sandwiches, danishes, tarts, quiches, cakes, cookies etc. We tried some of their products below. 1. Plain Croissant : 4.5/5 2. Almond Plain Croissant : 4/5 3. Chocolate Almond Croissant : 5/5 - Just delicious. I've never tried the chocolate + almond combo before but they go really well together. Highly recommend. 4. Mustard Twist : 5/5 5. Vanilla & chocolate cookies : 4/5 6. Apple Almond Danish : 5/5 - The texture of baked apples and the layers.. everything about this danish was amazing. I usually don't like the taste of baked apples but this danish? Please try. If you ever see this danish in the basket, just get it. You won't regret it. 7. Pain Au Chocolat : 3/5 I recommend visiting in the morning if you’d like to try various pastries. And maximum 4 people are allowed in the store. I’ll definitely come back and try their cake menus too.

I was happy to discover this bakery. Every time I was walking in front of it, I was seeing lineups. They also only allow 2 people inside at the time. They offer a lot of baked goods and I wanted to try everything. Their baguette is very similar to the ones in France. Their butter croissant was nice and flakey but in my opinion was not buttery enough. Their almond croissant was delicious. Their chocolate croissant was very good. My only disappointment was that the 2 chocolate bars were stacked and not separated enough so that you would have a really nice chocolate-y bite and then some with no chocolate at all. Maybe it was just the one chocolate croissant. Their pain au raisin was very good. I also tried their twisted chocolate bread which was very enjoyable. Their fig pistachio tart was amazing. They had a lot of different fruit tarts that all looked so good. They also had a whole quiche and sandwich section that looked very tempting as well. Their coffee was very good as well. Their quiche lorraine was nice and thick with a good amount of bacon inside. Would definitely come back.

A french bakery/pastry shop with great baguettes, breads and pastries and cakes. They specialize in pastries and croissants (regular, chocolate, almonds and mixed). They also have a small dining area (4 tables of 2 and additional counter seats) where they used to serve specialty coffees, any of their dessert items as well as a lunch menu. There is an inside washroom (downstairs and thus not easily accessible with babies due to the steep staircase). In all, good quality, authentic European style products. However, the photos show the whole wheat sourdough bread (healthy but a bit chewy), the chocolate croissant and the cinnamon danish swirl which together cost $15. I was there around noon and most of their regular selection was gone. Additional photos were added in April 2025. They are still as good with excellent quality pastries. Prices were increased and the 3 just purchased cost $18 but the quality makes it worth the cost....

Pastries are quite delicious no matter what you choose. I'll be honest, I've been going there for years, but never stayed there to eat. They are half an hour (more in traffic) drive from my house by the pastries are really worth it. However, staying there to eat turned out quite unpleasant. If you want to sit at the "bar" kind of seats, you get the uncomfortable metalic bar stools and full of crumbs and dishes counter. Or they have 3 bar tables with VERY unstable bar chairs. Two people before me fell off and complained, then I fell off twice. When it happened to me, the owner (or seemed to be the senior member of the team) was there, but only the poor server kept apologizing for the chairs. In addition to this hazard, they were changing the carpets in front of the counter and seating area while people were eating. Which if done carefully, is not an issue, but they did it in a way that all the dust from carpets, and what's under, went up. Then they swept the rest in the same way. If I didn't see the dust flowing right in front of me and on my table, I really wouldn't care, but with their prices, to have to throw out half of the pastry because of the carpet dust on it, is just not right! Last is no wifi... I never use wifi in coffee shop but just dropped my phone and lost all service, something with sim connection. I was sure that wifi in the coffee shop is as common and essential as napkins, guess not.... Well, I'm getting wifi and coffee in the coffee shop down the road looking for a new phone and writing a somewhat...

I have been a loyal customer of Jules Cafe for many years. On April 20th around 9:30am, I ordered an almond croissant and a Croque Monsieur ham sandwich, as I have done many times before. I requested that the sandwich be warmed up, but the staff member informed me that it would take 10 minutes to do so. I acknowledged this and said that I was willing to wait. However, the staff member used a microwave to warm up the sandwich and returned it to me in just 1 minute.

Unfortunately, the sandwich was not in good condition as the bread had become soggy and the ham had become hard and dehydrated due to the microwave's high beam energy. Consequently, I had to throw away half of the sandwich.

I have some questions that I would like the manager of the cafe to address:

Why was a microwave used to warm up the sandwich when it is known to ruin the texture of the sandwich? If the staff uses a microwave on a regular basis to warm up sandwiches, why did they tell me it would take 10 minutes when it only took 1 minute to warm up my sandwich? If you want to explain that the staff member was new, please do not. Instead, please address whether or not you train your staff on these important details. I was very disappointed with my experience and had to remove my previously five-star review of your cafe to write this one. I hope that your response to my concerns will be better than the behavior of your staff and that you will not disappoint...
