Love this place. Mostly because of the atmosphere. We have been many times. It's a really laid-back place. The dress is casual, but if you were dressed up, say in a suit or coctail dress, you would still feel comfortable. It's warm and cozy. Love the retro decor. Love the music they play, Alternative Rock. If you have mobility issues and can't do stairs, it's not a good option for a place to go for any length of time. As the washrooms are located on the lower level. Definitely not wheelchair friendly. They have a small patio in the back. It's suitable for small groups. I have eaten there on a few occasions, but prefer to just go for drinks. The food I have had was great, though. I definitely recommend it for a relaxed but still grooving evening out. I would like to add that we have been going to Squirly's for many years and have always had good friendly service, but on the last 2 occasions, (this past winter) the bartender working on both occasions whom we have never seen prior was horrible!!!!! Her attitude was brutal, so unfriendly. Perhaps she hates her job. If she is there the next time we come, we won't be back. I can't stand that kind of behavior. It's unacceptable, especially when you are a paying cutomer! The last time we were there, i was ticked at her for once again having such a poor attitude. Once, ok, maybe she was having a bad day. But twice, an attitude adjustment seems to be needed. I did become unfrendy myself by the end of our visit, i am sad to say. I just couldn't help it. We love Squirly's. It's one of our favorite places on Queen Street to go to, but who needs the attitude! We just want to groove and have a nice...

10 years ago this place was a hidden gem with excellent food and drinks at low prices. Sadly, it is not as amazing as it used to be in certain areas. This review reflects my latest visit, on a weeknight in September, 2019.

The Food: dreadful, obviously reheated, and not as cheap as it used to be. As a restaurant I give it 1 star.

The Drinks: awesome! And still cheap! A great place to get a 3oz cocktail or martini for $8.00 (try and find that anywhere else on Queen West)

The Service: utterly atrocious. I was there on a first date and the waitress was giving us attitude from the moment we walked in the door. Everything took forever... She would serve us another round, then retreat to hang out at the far end of the bar with 2 or 3 regulars and totally ignore our waves / shouts when we needed to order again. She also neglected to give us napkins, brought only 1 water instead of 2, and a whole bunch of other extremely annoying things that required me or my date to repeatedly get up and walk over to the bar to tell her that we needed these basic things or wanted to order again.

Appalling. I hope this was a one-off incident, and that she gets fired... If I am ever treated rudely like this again on future visit, I am reducing my rating to 1 star for the entire...

My husband and I were having a great night on their back patio, it was our first time here. Drinks were cheap and good and food was pretty good. The vibe was chill and we were happy with everything. Then when we got our bill, there was a random charge at the bottom that said “double vodka $7” I asked the serve because our other drinks were listed above and we didn’t order this one and she gave me a very weird explanation about how the drink I ordered was a double (it clearly says 1oz on the menu, it was the squirly seltzer and I did not order it any differently) and she explained that their POS system punches it in this way etc. I didn’t really know what to say and felt awkward so we paid but when I left I couldn’t help but feel like we were taken advantage of. I didn’t order a double, I don’t think I drank a double and I don’t care about $7 but it was just a disappointing way to end a nice evening. I called back but there was apparently no management on site to hear me out about the...

The heart of this place lies in the nostalgia of the back room. Squirly’s has been a staple in the queen west neighbourhood and I could be happier that it’s not going anywhere. What was once a hangout for young Gen exers to drink, eating was a convenient after thought, now seems to have put a lot of love and attention to serving delicious quality food. If you’re a foodie you will love it - I promise. Lots of options. And there is nothing I wouldn’t order again. And the best pulled jackfruit tacos I’ve ever had!
