Walking in, you know you're in for a treat. From 1991-1996, my parents owned the corner store a few shops down. We were in the area, and my parents wanted to see what has changed. It's now a restaurant. As we walked further down, my mom says "I remember this bakery!" So, we head in and we see Helen. Not knowing it was the same lady 30+ years ago, my parents ask her how long she's been in business for, and that they used to run the corner store. She lit up! She remembered exactly who my parents were and was even using the same refrigerator my dad had sold her decades ago. There's obviously something special here to be open since 1979. It's cash only, affordable, and extremely delicious. A HUGE slice of carrot cake was $3! We also grabbed a peach pie for $5. Both were great! We couldn't believe the incredible value. I look forward to trying more amazing treats and bringing them home for my parents. Helen, if you're reading this, thank you so much! You made my parents' month. They had so much fun reminiscing about old times. I loved hearing about it as well.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Helen who is one of the sweetest people I have ever come across! I of course had to try the famous Cinnamon roll and even recieved a cupcake as a little gift. As a pastry chef, its pretty hard for me to be impressed by desserts. These were so incredibly delicious! I had plans to save them for my flight back but as soon as I took one bite I couldn't stop myself. I highly recommend anyone to stop in and try some desserts or at least to stop in and say, "hi" to Helen. You won't be disappointed by the food or by the wonderful soul working there!

I love this bakery for so many reasons

Firstly, the food. Holy smokes! The cinnamon buns absolutely live up to the hype. Bring a half dozen into work and I can tell you from experience that you will be the most popular person in the office for weeks. Only downside will be the shadow cast on every other cinnamon bun you eat for the rest of your life - they won't compare. I've had cakes, scones, canoli, mini pies and cookies and everything they produce is a little slice of heaven.

Secondly, this is a junction institution. It's been around for decades. Helen treats everyone walking by like an old friend. Did you know she plants flowers by the tree in the sidewalk every year and tends them all herself? Ask her about the photos on the wall and she'll tell you stories that come along with being the best baker in Toronto for as long as she has. Once I went in for a receipt I forgot to ask for from an order I'd made a week previous. She remembered every detail, and threw in a scone for my morning coffee. I felt so valued I know this is my neighbourhood bakery!

Thirdly, the food. I mentioned it before but it's so damn good it bears repeating.

Grab some cinnamon buns, stop in for a chat and get a feel for the small town vibe that makes the junction, and Sweet Trolley Bakery, so special.

Thank you Helen for all the...

We went this past Friday for some treats. My boyfriend and I were looking for a new bakery to try and I’m so glad that we went to Sweet Trolley. First of all Helen is amazing! Friendly and super welcoming! We got cinnamon buns, lemon loaf, a veggie pie and spanakopita. Everything we got tasted amazing.

The cinnamon buns are the best I’ve ever had, soft and gooey plus the icing is amazing! There’s a reason why it’s voted best cinnamon bun!

The lemon loaf has that bright fresh lemon flavour and the cake is so moist!

The veggie pie is so good, the pastry is flakey and the filling is amazing. I can’t wait to try her other pies!

Spanakopita was delicious flakey and full of the right amount of feta and spinach.

I’m so excited to go back and try all the other options they have! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a local business to get some...
