My frustration over ordering a double leg dinner is extreme. While the University Avenue location does sell a double leg dinner none of the people that take orders acknowledges it and says that they don't have it. I complained to customer service and had and email back and forth with them that lasted for days trying to explain that the option to order a double leg dinner on-line does not exist. So, finally customer service puts me in touch with the manager that tells me to phone the store directly if I want a double leg dinner, so I do. The staff tell me to call the main line and make my order. They don't take orders directly at the store. I tell them that the manager told me to call my order into the store. I wait on hold for the manager, who doesn't remember me, and after checking that my address is in their catchment area, tells me that she has contacted customer service and told them to call me and place and order for a 1/4 chicken white (same price) and add a notation that the order is for a double leg dinner. Great. I wait awhile before customer service calls me and I place my order. Great. I ask for two Molson Canadian beers and they tell me they only sell 6 packs of either Heineken or Corona. I cancel my order. This took 30 minutes and now I am back to square one looking to order my dinner.

Edit: called the location to ask if they have Molson Canadian beer and they told me they DO NOT OFFER BEER FOR DELIVERY, so had I ordered Heineken or Corona offered by customer service, my order would have been taken, and I would have been called by the store to advise me of this and my order would have been cancelled a lot later.

I no longer want chicken from Swiss Chalet, which they seem to have insurmountable problems delivering, I want the hours (yes, cumulative hours) back from all the time I have spent trying to get two stupid chicken legs from these people!!!! Oh, and a...

food was great, service however was pretty abysmal. i’ve seen some reviews about nicer servers but i guess i was just unlucky today. my server wanted me gone from the minute i got here. when i sat down she immediately started taking my order, even though i hadn’t gotten a chance to look at the menu. i asked for a few more minutes to read through it and she came back no less than a minute later. i ordered and she didn’t come back to me until i was almost done the meal. another lovely server (who’s name i think is dion or dionne) actually came to check on me and made sure that i had all i needed. as i was finishing up my original server came back to my table and started wiping it up as i was eating. i was literally still chewing and she was taking away my plates which STILL HAD FOOD mumbling about how she needs to clean the table. like dawg i’m still eating. the cherry on top was when she brought the bill before i asked for it, withholding me from the opportunity to order desert/something to go. as i paid she literally bent right over to check that if was tipping her or not. like yes i’m going to tip you but i promise you don’t need to breathe down my neck to make sure…i enjoyed the food, and i’m sure the other servers here are much nicer. i was just unlucky today. in terms of atmosphere, it was loud and generally not relaxing. i’ve been to better swiss chalet locations, but at least the food was good. 5/5 for the food. 0/5 for the service. 2/5 for the atmosphere. would not come again unless i’m...

My online delivery order was to be sourced from this location. We waited for over 45 minutes before a rep from the Cara Call Centre told me that our order is not coming because the restaurant's delivery service ended before I placed the order and received a confirmation email. My issue was not with that. 1st issue was why it took so long for us to be contacted - there seemed to be finger pointing between the call centre and the restaurant manager. 2nd issue was that we were tracking the order online and it moved from CONFIRM ORDER to ORDER BEING PREPARED to ON ITS WAY - so who was inputting these updates. Was told that it was a technical glitch - so the tracker was updating itself after so many minutes in a particular status? 3rd issue was that I was offered a $5 off coupon as an apology - that is a very disappointing customer service response. My order cost almost $67 before taxes and tips - $5 is not even 10% of that. 4th issue - I requested for a cancellation confirmation email but was told that their system does not send out one. Although I was verbally assured that I will see the reverse charge on my credit card after a few days, how can I trust a system with a technical glitch that updates the status of an order falsely? If the reverse charge does not go through, then I don't have any other tangible proof to offer when I call customer service to complain. I have already submitted a complaint through the Swiss Chalet website but honestly not optimistic about it...

Have gone to this location a few times, mostly because it is in the same building I work in. The food is the familiar Swiss Chalet fare and the prices are OK compared to a lot of other places in the area. However, the service at this location is consistently slow and they often get the orders wrong. That is only mildly irritating and I can accept that when things are busy, but we tend to go for lunch just before or after the rush and service is still slow. Food has been spotty the last couple of times with cold fries in one instance, and stir fry with very little chicken in it the next. Today was the worst. I ordered a Rotisserie chicken club wrap and the bacon was rubbery and almost looked like it was raw. I had to take it out to eat the sandwich and it took the joy out of it. There was also very little mayo on it so it was very bland. I did not dare order another sandwich as it would have taken forever to get something else. We also waited a good 25 minutes for our bill and had to seek out our server to request it. They also messed up the bills and had to sort that out before we could pay and leave. I showed the server the bacon that I had removed from the sandwich and she seemed unfazed. "I'll mention it to the cook." Unimpressed to say the least. Next time we'll check out the rotisserie chicken place across the street. It'll be more expensive to be sure, but the quality of the food and service will likely be better.

Have been seeing fewer locations lately - I think all restaurants in BC are closed down. So when I moved to Toronto, I knew I had to go again to see what I can't remember. Came on a rainy day, so there were available seating. Was originally going to order take-out, but decided to dine in since there are more options available. The server was friendly and attentive, making sure I was alright. I ordered a meal, starting off with Cheese Perogies - wasn't expecting the perogies to be deep fried, but I enjoyed these cheese stuffed pockets. I also got myself a Shirley Temple (because I'm a child), and it was okay - I think there's something missing in the drink though. Then the main dish arrived: Quarter Chicken (white meat) with Fries. I ordered Mashed Potatoes, but I was just hungry at this point. The chicken is very juicy, packed with a flavour that makes you want to keep on eating. The fries were alright, should have gotten the seasoned variety instead. As for the sauce (gravy?), there's a prominent apple flavour to it, which I wasn't sure whether I exactly liked. The staff provided great service; it did seem that there wasn't enough staff, but then again, it wasn't a busy day. For what it's worth, it was a nice nostalgic moment, despite not remembering my last visit.

Festive special w/ dark meat chicken - $13.49 The cranberry sauce tasted like it was procured from a jar left in the fridge from last year. The stuffing was bland and somehow dry, and the fries were luke warm, chicken was pretty good but it was definitely not enough for $13.49, and is gravy supposed to be sour? Because the gravy was sour. Four cheese spinach dip - $9.50 The chips were stale, it was as if they left a bag of chips open for a few days and then served it. As for the FOUR CHEESE spinach dip, I don’t even think they had cheese in the damn dip, it was barely noticeable. TL;DR - The food is disgusting and way too expensive for its quality, the service is ok, I do not recommend coming here.
