I first came here with my family not long after they first opened and still remember how great my burger was. It was was so thick it was hard to fit in my mouth and oh so delicious. I’m not sure if it’s still that thick many years later as I have been eating other just as wonderful offerings from their menu since.
I have to admit I’m not a regular but I love this place.
But I/We have been coming by or getting take-out more often now starting with Covid take-out and now dine-in. I introduced my best friend to this place when he comes regularly to visit from a couple hours north of Toronto and he also commented how great this place is.
My young adult kids also love their wings and poutine!
You walk in and can tell the regulars at seated at the bar. They even great us with at least a smile when we enter and they do not know us. Such friendly people and accepting people.
The food is great. I love their wings. Easily one of the best I have ever had anywhere. Actually I would say it is the best! Great flavour and flavour options and good sized wings.
Service is also friendly and attentive.
We would say this is our favourite pub for service and food quality.
And maybe a little more than 3-4 years ago, my wife met the owner and his wife for the first time while running with a club. I also met the owners wife at a running event held at her place of business. Truly great people. I loved the place before but after now knowing the owner and his wife are kind people, I feel even better supporting this...
Read moreFood: top notch. The wings here are as good as everyone says. I keep coming back for them! My kids love them too. Great selection of flavours including all the wicked spicy kinds plus a honey garlic and a dry salt and pepper that kids love. Even on a busy night, their kitchen never overcooks the wings like so many other places when the cooks are juggling a hundred orders. Can also say the Caesar salad is good — always cold, crisp, lettuce, and they use a good sauce. Fries are great too. They’ll do a good Shirley Temple for kids and the beer selection is great.
It’s definitely a “cozy neighbourhood pub” feel — no windows, which is great in the winter. Clearly a lot of regulars come here, some groups of adults in walking distance and also people who have come from further for the wings (like me). And they never seem to have a problem with kids coming which is nice (how a pub should be!) Also they have a PatioTO outdoor sidewalk/street patio now which is great in the summer months given the main pub has no windows.
I’d basically give Green Dragon a perfect review except they do one thing I can’t stand in restaurants, which is trying to take your order by memory instead of writing it down. Which means on a busy night they sometimes forget things or make mistakes. I never understand why restaurants do this… just write it down! Trying to do it by memory is...
Read moreWe were regulars for over 8 years until a recent situation ruined not only our meal but our experience. We walked in and luckily found a booth seat. We ordered our drinks and a pound of wings. Suddenly, this employee rushes over to us and asks us how many drinks we’d had. I answered and then continued with finishing our meal. We paid our bill. He then came flying over again asking if we wanted to order food. I said, that we’d actually already ordered food and had paid with a generous tip. I held up my receipt. He left again. Not saying anything. My husband went to the washroom while I waited sitting at the booth. As soon as I stood up, he came flying over again and aggressively asked me if I wanted to settle up. I said again that we’d already paid. I had the receipt. The bartender came over and said something to him. His behaviour was unacceptable. All he had to was check the system to see a different order number associated with the table. I have no idea why he behaved the way he did but it made us feel harassed. He didn’t do his due diligence and he was rude. Totally...
