Studio Mooi is a gem in our community. My 6 year-old daughter has attended multiple sessions of the after school mini maker club and it is by far her favourite day of the week. She hasn’t enjoyed many extracurriculars so far and she constantly asks for more Studio Mooi. She would be there every day if that were possible. The space is beautiful, the staff are amazing and kind, and you wouldn’t believe what they inspire their young students to create. Every member of our family received handmade gifts for Christmas this year that we will cherish for a lifetime. This place truly brings out the best in our kids. I am always happy knowing how my daughter is spending her time with Tanya and her team at Studio Mooi. There are endless workshops for adults too, which I plan to attend when time allows. Be sure to check this place out. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you Studio Mooi for being a part of our amazing neighborhood and for enriching our lives...
Read moreStudio Mooi is my happy place. I've been telling all my friends how great this place is because it allows you to try a new craft without the commitment of buying all the supplies, and you get to learn it under the guidance of a skilled instructor. Best of all, you leave each session with a completed piece! I've tried multi-week art courses in the past and it's no fun to get partway through it and realize it's not for me. Studio Mooi's classes give the perfect intro to new mediums so I can continue on my own if I like it. In the meantime, I get to come home with a cool art piece I've made myself. I've done their vintage gouache painting, wood burning, and needle felting classes and had a great time at every one. The staff are friendly and we even get tea and cookies (and sometimes homemade banana bread!) during the class. I'm grateful for this spot in the city, and can't wait to try new classes at...
Read moreMy friend & I had our very first class at Studio Mooi today - in circular basket weaving….something I’d always wanted to try. The studio is very casual, nice vibe, our named labels were waiting to be applied to our aprons. Tanya gave us a brief background on the studio and herself and then launched into the class. It was a very enjoyable experience all round. People chatted, some helped others, beverages & nibbles were available and 3 hours flew by. A few ‘Martha Stewart’ types finished their projects - while I was temporarily sidelined with a cramped hand (I recovered). Tanya holds a UFO class (un-finished object) on the last Wednesday of each month for people like me for $15.00. I’ll be there! Highly recommend this place. Lots of fun and just a nice way to spend time learning...
