The owner was really rude, the second i walked in she snapped at me that dogs arent allowed because i had my service dog who is certified as a PTSD and anxiety support animal. She didnt bother to ask, she just rudely snapped at me that theyre not allowed, although it is the law that my service animal can accompany me to any establishment including those that serve food. After i told her it is a service animal, she snarked at me and laughed. This made me feel uneasy and ashamed and as if i was not welcome there. She had a very rude and demeaning attitude towards me for no reason. I ended up purchasing a few items and rushed because she was staring me down the whole time and making me feel really uncomfortable and as if she wanted me to get out. She also made a comment that if the āhealth inspectorā came in it would be a violation, which is untrue because service animals are exempt from no pets allowed establishments. I also stated prior to this comment i just wanted to purchase an item and leave, even though i was lawfully allowed to sit down if i wanted. Despite this negative interaction and not basing my opinion on how rude the owner was to me, i can honestly say that the baked goods are underwhelming and not great. I had a chocolate chip cookie which was really not tasty. I guess its because they are made by someone who is very miserable and rude. You can always tell when something isnt baked with love. My friend had a carrot cake cookie which i tasted and immediately had to spit it out. There were long strings of carrots in the cookie and it just tasted awful. I would never return to this establishment due to how unfriendly and condescending the owner was (the other employee was very kind to us) and due to the nearly inedible...
Ā Ā Ā Read more4.5 really but it's not their fault. Location is a part of a review for me and this is not in a picturesque area. The view is a busy street and a dolorama. Soo. Is what it is if you are going to have a coffee shop on this street.
Food - I had a scone the first time I came in and was impressed! It's hard to get scones right 'cause they can always be too dry. This wasn't the case. It was the right amount of crispy on the outside and soft enough in the middle.
Customer Service - Fantastic! The young Barista was polite, quick on their feet and explained things clearly and efficiently. Please tip the staff 20% here or more. They deserve it.
Atmosphere - As beautiful as they can make it and well organized. They clearly care about the look and organization of the place and it shows. It's not too packed, you have beautiful displays of a wide variety of items...Perfect.
Sound Level - Moderate. The music isn't blaring which is nice.
Seating - Good for writing if it's not a packed day. There are five small person tables and one large four person round table by the window.
WIFI - Speed was impressive. I couldn't get the actual numbers from a speedtest. But I was able to play 4K youtube video.
Conclusion - If you're in the area, don't bother looking for a place with a better view. You won't find it. The street isn't Oakville. But they do on the inside what they can't control on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe happy baker always makes their customer happy with great food and service! Except this time ⦠Iām always ok in a cafe if the staff just provides bare minimum service, Iām not picky with service, and I understand itās not a restaurant, and I didnāt even sit down. In the past their staffs are always so warm and welcoming during my visit, and thatās why I love the place besides the amazing pastry! But when a staff is very condescending towards a customer with a different ethnicity background, it really makes me uncomfortable. With no greeting, no heat up service being offered as usually (all of their other staffs always offered ), when we close the transaction I said āthank youā as a habit, the staff look me in the eye with no response.ā¦.. please donāt spread the negative energy in our neighborhood, the Happy Bakery should always filled with love...
