4.5 stars for sure! I happened upon Penwarden a few years ago when I wanted to remake my engagement ring for my 20th anniversary. I had never wanted a ring but my then future husband insisted so we settled on a small stone in a simple setting. I rarely wore the ring and thought if I could remake it I would feel more comfortable wearing it. As it turned out I didn’t wear the remake either not because I didn’t like the ring (I had many compliments on it), I just came to realize I’m not a ring / jewelry person. So 5 years forward for my 25th anniversary I went back to Penwarden this time to see if we could use the stone to make something I would wear. As I liked the design of the ring the lovely ladies (Marlene and Natasha) suggested we keep the design and make it into a pendant. I loved the idea! When I picked up the pendant it was stunning. However it would not lay flat on my neck with the chosen chain. It kept flipping due to the weight. Penwarden staff worked with me to find a solution. The original pendant was so lovely and while the pendent I ended up with is beautiful I was initially disappointed because I saw the other design first. As it turns out I absolutely love the pendent and wear it every day. I’m so happy to have my original engagement stone with me in a piece I love to wear. I can’t thank the staff at Penwarden enough for the patience, kindness and hand holding. They even went out of their way to deliver the finished product to my house when time was of the essence. My fiance and I recently designed my engagement ring with Marlene at Penwarden. Before we made the decision to choose Penwarden we visited several other jewelers ranging from boutique to big box. It was clear to me after a few other stops - Penwarden was the place if we wanted it to be personalized and special.

We both wanted something that was different that the typical diamond and band you often see (which is beautiful) but not us at all. The opportunity to design our rings with Marlene resulted in something that is unique and special as we begin a new chapter of our lives together. Each time we consulted with Marlene she took time to listen to our ideas and then craft them into something beautiful - after all, she is the expert. We even had great coffee and even some champagne! It was never a pushy experience it was truly all about us.

We were pretty confident Linda would design our engagement ring and wedding bands the moment we walked in to Penwarden, and saw that almost every piece of jewelry in her display was unique, gorgeous and just my style. Then we met Linda and the decision was made. We were charmed by her fun, lighthearted energy and her obvious creative talent. Her team sourced the perfect center stone for us and managed to combine elements we've never really seen brought together in the same ring before, but for us meant the perfect marriage of tiny and meaningful details.
