I really wish I could give zero stars and that I had read the reviews on this place before I ordered. I have been vegan for 6 years now and I got excited to see so many vegan options on the menu! This place is not far from my house so my boyfriend and I decided to have a nice takeout night. We both ordered the Mexican meal his with meat and mine with the vegan chorizo and the vegan birria, I also noted that I would like a side of the VEGAN birria consomè. When the food arrived immediately we noticed that the refried beans and rice that came with both our meals were missing (which is half the meal, and part of the reason why I ordered this particular meal!)
We decided to just forget about it and enjoy the tacos, very quickly I realized that they did not give me any of the vegan birria as there was not a mushroom in sight and it was only the vegan chorizo, again I decided to just eat my food and move on. I ate 3 tacos, all of which I dipped into the consomè /poured the consomè on, then my boyfriend (not vegan) decided to try the consomè with his spoon and to my horror there were bits of stringy meat hanging off. I immediately felt ill and stopped eating, now I am not entirely sure if my chorizo was meat free or of there may have been cross contamination with meat. Not to mention none of the containers were labeled at all and it was a struggle to decipher what was vegan and what wasn’t. If you are going to advertise your vegan options especially in a place that also serves meat you should be taking EXTREME care to make sure that your guests are getting what they ask for. On top of all this both my boyfriend and I found everything extremely lacking in flavour and overall mediocre. I had also ordered guac and chips that I did not end up eating because it was brown and tasted like pure lemon juice, this also seems to be a common theme after taking a look at some of their other reviews. Honestly avoid this place especially if you are looking for vegan options, I wouldn’t trust a single thing...
Read moreAfter being a customer of Tita’s for over 3 years it saddens me to have to give them such a poor review but the customer service and just lack of basic order fulfillment has finally brought me here. It’s unclear whether the location has new management or employees or both but very basic things in our take out orders have been missed (e.g. all the tortillas from the taco dinner meal). But the worst part is their complete lack of customer service in rectifying errors. We order directly from them to support the business versus certain apps and when items are missing or incorrect they do nothing to refund you or compensate on a future order. Tonight when ordering a side of their salsa they literally supplied a container of watered down tomato soup (photo) when we called thinking it was the wrong item (compared to their salsa we’ve bought and had a dozen + times) they dismissed our concern saying it was the “extra sauce” as we ordered and when we asked to escalate to manager they said they’d call us back in 10min and never did. It’s just really unfortunate when you’ve supported a business for so many years to have them have absolutely zero customer service for their own order mistakes. It’s small things but if you can’t even call your customer back or refund the item you forgot or messed up that’s just bad business. Sadly time to find a New Mexican Restaurant...
Read moreFOOD IT'S DISGUSTING, I KEEP GIVING THESE PLACE A CHANCE BECAUSE I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD! WE RETURNED 2 OUT 4 ITEMS. One of them was the Azteca Soup, after my first spoon I called the waitress and told her that was a canned soup, which she confirmed, in top on that was not warmed evenly (microwaved). WE WERE TOLD WE STILL NEEDED TO PAY FOR THE ITEMS WE DIDN'T CONSUME OTHERWISE THE WAITRESS WOULD HAVE TO, WHICH I UNDERSTAND.... Edit after a year: Shamefull A chicken soup, not a pozole. Beef sope: no beef anywahere, but potatos. Tres leches: cake have been sitting in the fridge for so long, it was so dry that I was able to stand a spoon upside down on a slice of cake. Is a hit or miss in the 5 times I have been to the place and not this is not authentic Mexican food... But it acomodates non Mexican/latino costumers.
Pozole: Knor/Magui or whatever too obvious Not naturally seasoned. it doesn't taste like pozole Beef taco: A strange taste on the meat ( like the meat was from a cheap Chinese supermarket / starting to spoil ) Horchata and Jamaica: water down... the list goes on!
I won't be returning anytime soon. Previous Review: You guys need to put more effort on the spa Azteca or pozole... However tacos...
