Toronto Yupgi Tteokbokki โ€“ A Must-Visit for Korean Comfort Food Lovers!

I recently visited Toronto Yupgi Tteokbokki and let me tell you, it was an absolute feast for my taste buds! From start to finish, everything was phenomenal.

First off, the Rose Tteokbokki was hands down the best Iโ€™ve ever had. The sauce was creamy with just the right amount of spice, perfectly coating each chewy rice cake. Itโ€™s the kind of dish that keeps you coming back for more with every bite.

The Spicy Pork Stir-Fry (Jeyuk Bokkeum) was packed with bold flavors, with the right balance of heat and savory goodness. The meat was tender, juicy, and so well-marinated that it practically melted in my mouth.

Next up, the Bulgogi was simply divine. The beef was cooked to perfection, sweet and savory, with just the right amount of seasoning. It was incredibly tender and paired beautifully with the fresh vegetables.

Finally, the Gamjatang (Pork Bone Soup) โ€“ wow! The broth was rich and hearty, with deep flavors that made this dish unforgettable. The meat fell right off the bone, and the potatoes were the perfect complement to the bold flavors of the soup.

Every dish exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend Toronto Yupgi Tteokbokki to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable Korean food experience. This place is a hidden gem in Toronto, and I canโ€™t...

Update: if u canโ€™t even handle 2 tables by yourself, yes, I am so confident Iโ€™ll be a better operator than you. Go check other reviews and they are saying the exact same thing. Fix your attitude and learn to be a better owner. Made us wait while she was just calling People , was sitting at the table for more than 20 minutes , there were two tables who were already eating (mind you that one table also left) and she was not attentive at all. Did notgreet, did not acknowledge, did not appproach after sitting for a while. At least say hi? Not polite, just in the back just keep calling people on the phone. Stop taking orders if you are that busy to even give menu and water to your walk-in customers. Saw the bad reviews before coming , but still wanted to give it a try- DO NOT COME HERE PEOPLE. The reviews were all correct, def for the people who got good service etc are their mutual or something because thereโ€™s no way that this management is good. I would understand if the whole restaurant is full or something, but this is just unacceptable how thereโ€™s not even a single acknowledgment. So upsetting. So...

When we came into the restaurant, the waiter seemed confused before we asked him that we wanted a seat. While we were ordering, we were told that the rose ttekbokki set the comes with rice balls, egg, and the ttekbokki dish wasnโ€™t available in their location, which confused us because they had it on their menu with pictures.

We waited over an hour for our food to arrive but with no notice about the long wait. The food portions were a lot smaller than previous times and the rose ttekbokki didnโ€™t look like roseโ€”it was more watery compared to what we ate in the past from here and had no cream in it whatsoever. We also ordered the cream shrimp but it did not meet our expectations. It had a lot of oil that settled down at the bottom of the plate and did not seem to have cream in it at all.

We ordered the rice balls, rose ttekbokki, and creamy shrimp which totaled to $59, including tip.

It was really unfortunate because we had great experiences with this place in the past which was why we kept coming back, but since their reopening it seems like their customer service and quality of food is not up to...

Love the taste of the food! But wait was kinda long for it. At least put the side dishes out so I have something to eat upon as I wait for my order. While waiting, I also didnโ€™t like how they had to sit the rice out for quite a long time. By the time the rice came to my table it was cold. Thatโ€™s when the server thought it was a good idea to bring out the side dishes. When eating the rice with the dishes though, the dishes were warm and flavorful, which then killed the coldness of the rice. And the server even brought a portable warmer to keep the food hot. So overall, the food tastes good. But overall experience couldโ€™ve been better

We got the 0.5 level for the rice cakes which was really spicy, more spicy than Shin Ramen but definitely not as spicy as Buldak noodles. Cant imagine what level 3 spicy is like. I thought there would been glass noodles in the rice cakes (we asked if there was and they said there was) but there wasnโ€™tโ€ฆ maybe it was due to language barrier so no worries. Food was a little slow to come out (30+ minutes) but the woman who took care of was really sweet and nice. Iโ€™d return, but get 0 spice level next time. Update: got the 0 spice level and it was perfect! Food came out really quickly (sunday lunch). Will be coming back more often.
