TacoTime — Restaurant in Town of Cochrane

Went for my wife's usual Taco order which we have gotten weekly for over a year (She works near by). 2 Hard Shell Beef Taco's, No Cheese/Dairy Allergy with Add Rice; was outright refused immediately by the lady working solo at the time; was told that "It would not work, and we don't do that" and that I would be unable to order my usual Taco's. I reassured the staff member that I have ordered it before and that I am aware that Rice would be extra cost; again, refused my order claiming it "would be impossible to fit Beef, Rice, Tomato, and Lettuce into the hard shell taco" - all the while receiving extremely rude hums and haws, eye rolling, and heistance to complete my order.

I then said to just put the Lettuce and Tomato on the side and I'll build my taco's at home; again denied my order saying she was "Unable, and can't put the toppings on the side". At this point, it was clear she was not here to serve me - so I began leaving. After realizing I was walking out she called after me to now attempt to reluctantly make my order - by now there is no way I am ordering food.

This is completely contradictory to the experience the owner has provided in the past; he is the most accomidating, kind, and amazing business owner I have met and the reason my wife even places this order is a result of his suggestion.

I am leaving this review, not to complain about this business - rather this employee who is clearly not here to provide hospitality to the guests and should not be allowed to ruin this businesses good reputation; I was open to any possibility that would allow me to get my regular order with no problems, and out-right denied with attitude at every option.

Hetul from this location was beyond accommodating and helpful. We arrived around 10am to originally dine at Subway but after seeing the Taco time we figured we would check the time of opening since we’ve never been. Hetul came out and welcomed us in 30 minutes before opening. I ordered a chicken burrito and my girlfriend ordered a veggie. He thoroughly asked us about allergies, preferences, sauces and everything to make sure we enjoyed our meal. He shortly realized after we sat down that i wasn’t enjoying my burrito but was nervous to say anything about it. He approached me and asked if i would like it to be remade or replaced with another item to which i replied the quesadilla. He made it very quickly and i’m in love with the quesadilla. This man deserves a raise. If management sees this please give him recognition or a promotion within the company. He went above and beyond to ensure every part of our visit was incredible! LOVE this location! I am from Edmonton, I come to Calgary now and then. I actually make the trip from Calgary to Cochrane just for the Taco Time here... they ALWAYS go above and beyond and the food is always on point. You can really tell when an owner cares about the customers... it shows in all aspects of this fine establishment from the exceptional friendly service to the generous portions and the gleaming cleanliness of the restaurant and bathrooms. I have been to Taco Times from Vancouver BC to Halifax NS and everywhere in between in this great country of ours, and the Cochrane Taco Time is consistently the best for fresh food, friendly service, and overall impression.
