Josie's Place — Restaurant in Town of Digby

"A diamond in the rough" and "don't judge a book by its cover" would be my best descriptions of this place.

This is a typical mom and pop diner style restaurant that has very affordable prices. All things considered after what the owner has endured during covid it is amazing they are still operational.

If you want an affordable place to grab something to eat that is tasty while your in Digby, you should really give this restaurant a try.

I will be the first to confess that I am from Digby and for one reason or another I had never given this place a thought which was very wrong of me to do as I have been missing out! Their food here is delicious every single time and I can say that with confidence because we ate there 3 times while we were in town and the quality was top notch. Their fries, beans, fish cakes, eggs and clubhouse were great! The only opportunity for improvement on the clubhouse would be to use real cheddar instead of the American cheese. Even if you charged a dollar more I would gladly pay that for real cheddar.

I have to be honest and say some improvements could be made on the aesthetics, but given that it was a struggle for them to stay open with all the restrictions during the pandemic I cut them a lot of slack and focused on the food which is the main reason I was there. This is not a fine dining establishment so do not expect it to be as such. This is a place you go to eat an affordable and tasty meal, then leave. If you stay focused on the food you will be impressed! Give this place a chance and you will be a returning customer like I was 👍👍

Josie’s Place is an absolute treasure! This restaurant serves delicious home-style food that makes you feel right at home. Cozy place with nice decor and wall paintings. This is one of the very few breakfast options early in the morning in downtown area.

Had been there for a brunch around 11:30, saw people still finishing their breakfasts.

The seafood dishes are particularly outstanding, with fresh, flavorful options that are cooked to perfection. The only disappointment for me was, they don’t have any seafood platter or lobsters. We ordered seafood chowder, fish and chips, butter garlic scallops and the pancakes for kids. Portion size was good and yummy n tasty.

It took a little time to get our order, the wait was well worth it. The quality and taste of the food more than made up for the wait.

I'm not sure how anyone can give this place UNDER 5 stars. Let me explain:

1. Great customer service. Not pushy, but courteous checking frequently on your needs.
2. Portions are more than decent.
3. Food is cooked perfectly and swiftly, extra needed items on the tables. It's been a few years, but this place has always been consistently delishious. I am so glad we stopped back in today (Mar. 12, 2023) we were not disappointed. Great coffee too! We all had the Cooks Special, for $14.50. That includes: 2 eggs, your way, bottomless coffee or tea, 4 straps of bacon, 3 sausage links, 1 slice oh ham, garlicy-delicious seasoned home fries and 2 full slices of toast.
