My girlfriend and I went here for the first time for live music and something to eat. The main room was so loud (music) you could hear anything but the music.
I ordered wings for $16 and what was brought out was NOT wings. It was Sobeys our complement boxed "wings and drumsticks" they were all bone and almost zero meat. It was embarrassing.
Then the staff then proceeded to gaslight me and saying all the other restaurants in town have the same pathetic size "wings" I felt bad for the waitress who had to try and defend this. ( She named Fundy restaurant specifically ) The owner sat there at the bar when I brought the "wings" back and said nothing about the ripoff she is selling to people.
My girlfriend liked her potato skins. They "ran out" of Guinness that morning or so they said. ( I think they don't stick it to force sales of craft beers ) Friday night live music night and the owner did pick up Guinness....fail.
I went down town to the pizza shop and picked up wings with actual meat on them. Large great tasting winds no drumsticks. ( Recardos )
Who ever this owner is is going to be out of business with practices like this. Any businesses owner who thinks she can make money ripping off people in a small town won't be in business long.
And it's a shame it's a nice environment and location and atmosphere.
I won't be spending money there until the...
Read moreWe liked this place so much, we ate here 2 days out of the 3 we were in Digby. Two of our party got fish and chips - for the second day in a row. They said there was no comparison between fish & chips they had the day before. Sydney St was far superior. They kept saying how much more fish they had at SS than they'd gotten the previous day. Another in our party got coconut lime risotta. She raved about it. I had an tandoori butter curry chicken. Fabulous. I live in the Boston/Cambridge area. There are lots of Indian restaurants. This was easily as good at most and better than some. Really delicious and perfectly prepared. The next night we couldn't find anyplace to get dessert, so we went back to SS. We got the sticky toffee dessert wtih ice cream. Soooo good! We'll definitely return when we're in Digby next. Really outstanding cuisine...
Read moreA wonderful place to spend the evening in Digby. We initially chose it because it was open till 10pm and most of the other restaurant's closed at 8pm! The food was excellent. Certainly a strange menu for a seafood town, but it was definitely interesting. The Dutch Poutine was delicious and a delightful surprise. The seafood chowder was actually full of seafood and not potatoes! The Thai Fritter Bites were tasty as were the fish and chips. (Tarter sauce was homemade and was really good).
The huge bonus of the night was the musical entertainment - Timothy V. We felt like we were at a infamous Nova Scotia kitchen party! He has an excellent voice, and sang lots of classic songs that everyone knew. He handed out kazoo's to the crowd along with other instruments and had the audience join in. It was...
