I wasn't sure what to expect as I had tried a couple of other places in the area that weren't for me, but Rebecca's was an awesome experience. I read some negative reviews on here about lack of portion sizes and pricing but this was not my experience at all. I started with the seared scallops and side salad. The dressing on the salad was delicious and I got more scallops than I was expecting to get, which were also delicious. For the main I got the bacon cheeseburger and garlic mash as a side. The burger was good and I got twice as much mash as I would have expected. For dessert I got the strawberry cheesecake, delicious as well. It was served with whip cream and a slice of grapefruit and a slice of orange which was a first for me when ordering that. The service was excellent. I was there with a group of 15 and everyone enjoyed their meals. I also seen a review on here about the chowder not having much in it, but the person sitting next to me got the chowder and I don't know how you could fit any more into the bowl. Generous amount of seafood and vegetables. Eating out is not cheap anymore, it's an experience. For a three course meal with coffee mine cost around $60, which for what I ordered I think is very reasonable considering what you would pay anywhere else these days, including the grocery store. I will definitely be returning to Rebecca's when I am in the area again. Lots of free...
Read moreI wanted to leave this review for The Naked Oyster but no link connection yet on their web page. But I know they’re affiliated with Rebecca’s, so hopefully this review will make it to them: We went to The Naked Oyster NS today in Mahone Bay where Oh My Cod used to be located. What a treat- I thought they only served oysters. WRONG. We were so happy to see Cathy (a server from OMC-those who know, know!) such a sweetheart and we were so surprised when she greeted us as we entered with her usual big smile. The renovations look fantastic; there’s ample seating, out back and out front and inside as well but the food was the star of the show. The staff was all smiling and happy, the owner was there as well-just good vibes from their crew on an otherwise rainy Sunday. We had the elderflower lemonade, fish and chips, (thin crispy batter; huge chunks of fish, best homemade tartare sauce!) lobster croissant,(to die) blueberry grunt, sticky toffee pudding and peanut butter cheesecake. Everything was fresh and hot and the service? Amazing. Now that they’ve opened and word of their incredible food spreads? We’re just hoping we can still find a seat. Soooo good! Go. Go early. Wait in line if you have to. It’s worth the wait. See you guys next week! (Closed on Tuesdays as...
Read moreGot the scallops to start and the lobster pasta special as well as the pork snitzel and spaeztle with mushroom sauce. The scallops were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing with the salad they paired it with, both me and the wife gave it praise. The lobster pasta special had shrimp as well. The penne was al dente and tossed and seasoned well with the seafood and the sauce (think of rosé) the pork snitzel and spaeztle was amazing with the mushroom sauce; cooked, breaded and pan fried perfectly, the spaeztle resembled Gnocchi with its ability to add depth but not change the flavour of the mushroom sauce made it a great balance.
And as if the meal couldn’t get any better we got a carrot cake and raisin bread pudding for dessert. I shit you not the dessert here was amazing. The carrot cake is 5/5 times good along with the frosting they add it was the best part of the meal. Now the bread pudding wasn’t what I was used to, traditionally I’ve always had the cold bread pudding with actual pieces of a loaf of bread. This was more of a raisin bread cake that they served warm with a caramel sauce. I wouldn’t classify it as a pudding with its consistency and how it’s made but it was damn near delectable and I’ve already been back for the desserts lol. Great place !...
