This restaurant is lovely: beside the Bay of Fundy, in an historic park. We watched the tide go out and enjoyed a Sunday evening on the deck set menu of prime rib roast, with veggies, starting with a fresh salad, and finishing with a fudgy chocolate cake A glass of red wine each, plus an EPA for himself. Plus a pot of tea , perfectly made: for myself. Excellent friendly service. Would recommend. The building is authentic log , board and batten. Used to be a tea House for the Daughters of the Empire. (I.O.D.E.) so we are told. And a barn quilt on the wall, for added effect.

Fantastic location with incredible views of the bay. The pesto pizza appetizer was superb. After that, it WBA’s all downhill. The pasta in the puttanesca was over cooked but the seafood was perfect. The lamb was over cooked. Sent back and over cooked again. The steak was also over cooked and flavorless. The carrots were hard as rocks, thus undercooked. The carrot cake was dry and flavorless. The blueberry crepes were tolerable. We found out the owner/chef was not there, so in fairness, maybe the food is better when he is there.

WORLD CLASS. Magic evening at the coolest place in St Andrews. Owner Chef David, the pro skier who cheffed at premier resorts in the Rockies, takes you on a culinary moonshot. Book a reservation and get excited, ask for Dwight, be amazed. Dine outside this delightful 100 year old cabin, have a cushion and blanket on the house, enjoy the waterfront view and celebrate a rare dinner or lunch... because not many are lucky enough to discover this... they don't even advertise. Lucky you. 😋

We went there twice in the same day. Once for lunch, and two hours later, back for dessert. The meals were excellent. The dessert wasn't too thrilling. The first time we arrived we were early, and the place was empty. Feeling adventurous, I ordered the lobster roll sandwich. It was delicious, as was the tomato basil soup.

When we came back the second time, the lunch rush had clearly been brutal on the staff, who were running around frantically. It was supposed to rain and didn't, so it seemed they weren't expecting the crowds they got. Also, I got the impression the waitress was new. Friendly, but she and the boss hadn't figured out how to best work together. So that dynamic made eating a bit stressful.

I got the strawberry rhubarb crumble, which was a martini glass with rhubarb sauce and a few crunchy cookie bits in it. Didn't seem like a real crumble to me.

But the restaurant is a delight. A quaint little place that I think wasn't expecting a rush in late June, before all the tourists really arrive. Niger House actually strikes me as the most interesting and promising restaurant in Saint Andrew's, given that all the others on water street look like pubs selling...

My husband and I are on Vacation and drove over 14 hours to St Andrews. We saw this cute spot with great reviews and were really excited to try it out. When we walked in, it was super busy, which is a good thing! I was happy to wait. When we walked in we were greeted with “it’s going to be a wait for outside”, not hi, welcome…? We said that’s ok we can sit inside and his reply was “it’s still a wait”. Then we walked up to get a menu, where the server said, “we will come to you”. As we are sitting and waiting, we hear the same guy saying “wtf is this” at his register. Then the waitress said “this is busy for a Tuesday” to which his response was “ don’t invite me back” and “ I just want to punch everyone in the face that walks in” . My husband cancelled our orders which were a 30 dollar lobster roll and a 20 dollar burger. What a disappointment. Will...

Went for birthday dinner with my boyfriend this evening. Everyone was lovely, the location is beautiful, and I've had many great dinners here, but tonight's meal was very bad. We both ordered the $32 lobster sandwich which was quite tiny and empty around the edges and beyond that we got 3 pieces of asparagus each and a dollop of warm German potato salad. Apart from the rationed portion of meat, the flavor of the bread and the non-lobster components of the sandwich far overpowered the flavor. Bread shouldn't be the most prominent part of a lobster sandwich. My boyfriend didn't eat much of or enjoy his but did take it to go. When I tried to eat it later at home I gave up after extracting a very long hair from the potato salad. Really disappointed and regretted not going to...
