A&W Canada — Restaurant in Town of Sylvan Lake

Edit: I was contacted by their customer service who was sincerely apologetic about my experience. I frequent A&W's all over the country because their good food and great service is something I have come to expect, which makes me even more disappointed when I have a bad experience.

Slowest A&W I've ever been to. It's called fast food for a reason. I pulled up to the drive-through and sat there for about 20 to 30 seconds and then a young man said "Just a minute please" then a minute or two later a young woman came on and took my order. I then pulled up to the window, was given my drink and made my payment, and sat there for a minimum of at least another five minutes waiting for my order, without being told anything. I started to wonder if they thought that they gave me the order already and would have appreciated a heads up that I would be waiting. I could tell that there was a personal situation going on with the staff and they appeared irritated or flustered, I know it's hard to find good employees but I believe they could do with some better leadership. It was not overly busy in the store, but I believe someone must have made a big order that put the staff off their rhythm or something, and I could tell they were not working...

They constantly mess things up. We primarily buy breakfast from A&W in Sylvan Lake. They get the order wrong almost every time. The food is usually ok, often colder because we have to wait for them to make the corrections. Such as:

Forgetting the substitution (We sub sausage for bacon). Not putting condiments in the bag. Forgetting coffee was ordered with breakfast. Forgetting the extra hash browns that were ordered.

It has grown really frustrating and we have come to expect that when we go there the staff will not follow directions the first time we order.

Its basically always something they have done incorrectly. I cant remember the last time they got it right.

If there was competition in the city, A&W and Tim Hortons would both be out of business...

This is the worst a&w we've ever been to! From the speed of service to the cocky staff to "park(ing) around the corner" and wait for a single burger. We went yesterday (Oct 1,2022)and were asked to pull around the corner for a "fresh burger" we waited 9min and watched 4 other vehicles (all that were in the drivethru) wait for their order. One vehicle got a drink, that's all they waited for! When my spouse went in for the burger, after 9min, it was sitting on the back counter and when we opened the burger, it was slipped together and the cheese was fully melted (not fresh/just made). Another time my spouse went he asked why it was taking so long for his burger, the worker said "I feel we should get a cookie or something" for being...
