Akane was a cute lunch spot to eat out in Langley. We were out for a drive and found this place impromptu close by. There was no wait right when it opened. The decor was traditional Japanese with some cute and tasteful Marvel comic decorations. The owner must be a fan because they even have collectible figures on display too! It was a touch of personality that was delightful. There was some soft music in the background and the mid day lighting added this cute charming, almost-sleepy and relaxing feel, like time had stopped and you were going to be free of stress during your meal. (Look at the photo of the tempura!) The server was really polite and friendly. He was attentive in coming to take the order and watching over for assistance (but not hovering). The food was a real delight! There was a complimentary starter which looked like a fried California roll, which when served with this sweet sauce was quite good. The tempura was DELICIOUS. It was so fresh and light and crispy, and if you weren’t sure that it was perfectly cooked, that first crunch spoke volumes! The nigiri sushi was great, large pieces, a good balance of rice, only missing the wasabi layer which was no problem. The rolls, sashimi and chicken teriyaki were also delicious. This restaurant was a pleasant drop-in surprise. A charming atmosphere, great service, tasty food, are all reasons why we wolf’s take the drive back to Langley to eat here. We will be back!

A wonderful surprise in Langley! We were driving around Lani looking for lunch and stumbled upon this cozy little Japanese restaurant. From the moment we stepped in, we felt like we had entered a true local spot run by Japanese owners. The attention to detail in the presentation, flavors, and hospitality speaks volumes. We ordered two bento boxes — everything was freshly made, with crispy tempura, tender teriyaki chicken, spring rolls, fresh salad, and neatly rolled sushi. The miso soup was rich and comforting, and the agedashi tofu had a perfect golden crust with a flavorful dipping sauce. If you’re looking for a solid and authentic Japanese lunch in Langley, Akane is a must-visit. We’ll definitely come back! 📸 Pro Tip: Sit down and take your time — it’s the kind of place that reminds you to slow down and enjoy your meal.

This has become mine and my stepdaughters "place". We love it here. The atmosphere is mellow and low-key cozy with a pop of action figure/superhero vibe. Just so happens the food is awesome too. I got the Nabeyaki and she got the Crazyboy, a fried California Roll, with the Miso soup. It was all so delicious. But what we really love is that we have our table, we have our tea, we chat, we interact with our gracious hosts and enjoy some great food. It just feels like you're at home. I would highly recommend you check it out!!

This is the sushi place I crave!

There are so many places but the freshness in the delicious rolls and meals makes Akane my #1 sushi place.

The owners are the finest around but are fortunately able to slow down their appearances and don't work everyday.. but the standards they set are met every time I return with other chef's creations.

Authentic, professionally made sushi sold here!

Love the ambiance too of the restaurant as they have supported many people and artists and there are thank-you's for you to appreciate their impact on the community.

The quality is great and I really hope it stays that way (no signs of slowing down) because it would be difficult to find an equal sushi establishment.

When I get it to-go the food is always carefully prepared and packaged. A habit that hasn't gone unnoticed ;)

You don't want to gamble with sushi and Akane...
