Affordable and good quality. Korean-Chinese cuisine with well known menu. They have excellent customer services.
I was worrying about this restaurant when it started in the beginning of the pandemic (early 2020). My concern was not only the timing, but also one of my wife's favorite menu, Jjambong, was not up to her satisfaction. She really wished to have this business going well because of the convenient location and honestly gave them comments about the quality. They listened! The food quality has been gradually improved. She was very happy about it. Now, you see how busy this place can be during the peak hours.
Last Sunday lunch here with my family was good. My only complaint is that the noodle was slightly less cooked. It was not serious enough to raise a hand at that time because the food overall was acceptable. My concern is that it was a lunch time, and giving up a lesser quality during the busy hours is not a good recipe of winning business. Customers can wait to taste the best you can bring. That's the main reason that customers visit again and again. Other than that, I wish this business the best for the sake of my family and the local community.
Updated: I had dinner with another family today here. The undercooked noodle issue was resolved. Well served with delicious...
Read moreI visited here with my family last Friday. I was told Mokran is a really good Chinese style Korean restaurant through a word of mouth. I've never gone this far to Langley just for blackbean noodles while my go to place would be Heeraedeung or Manli Jiangsung.
We ordered Family Combo A ($43.95) that's big for 3 people it came with Jjambbong (Spicy seafood noodle), Jajangmyun(Black bean noodles) and Tangsooyuk (Sweet and sour pork). Food was pretty good. We ordered a combo with Tangsooyuk because someone said they make Tangsooyuk better than Kkangpoonggi (spicy fried chicken).
Jajangmyun and Jjambbong were excellent. My sister and I found Jjambbong little bit spicy for our liking. I couldn't drink all the soup for this reason. But still their Jjambbong was pretty good in my personal opinion. I also like how Jjambbong had plentiful of seafood toppings especially squids.
Tangsooyuk was so fresh and crispy. It came with so much dipping sauce in a separate bowl. We ended up taking some food home without the sauce. I just think there was too much sauce for the deep fried pork.
I really enjoyed eating here with my family until this disaster happened. I slipped the bowl of spicy soup from my hands and spilled it onto my jeans. My jeans ended up smelling spicy, haha. Anyways I'd go back here with my...
Read moreFood: I'm very sorry I didn't take any photos, but we ordered the Friends Combo A (Tangsuyuk, King Po Chicken, and Seafood Black Bean Noodle) and then a King Po Shrimp.
The Tangsuyuk was quite good - there were lots of vegetables and the pork was crunchy but also not dry. The sauce was sweet and sour; just your usual tangsuyuk, nothing special. The King Po Chicken was decent - definitely not the best that I have had before. The vegetables in the King Po Chicken and the King Po shrimp seemed like they were the frozen veggies from green giant (the ones with carrots, peas, and corn). The King Po shrimp was very very starchy - I would say more than 50% of the pieces were made of starch and the rest was shrimp. The Black Bean Noodle was... interesting. The noodles were very stringy and rubbery - almost like glass noodles. The black bean flavour is very very faint; I don't know if I personally would be able to call it a black bean noodle dish. Have had much better before.
Service : You usual service; nothing special.
Atmosphere: They decorated the place for Christmas and Christmas music was playing! The interior was clean...
