I was at the door at 2:27pm last Thursday. I did not realize what the store hours were. I could see a young lady in glasses working behind the counter about 15 feet from me at the door. I tried to open the door a couple of times but the door was locked. I thought, since I had never been to this store before that maybe I had to buzzed in. I knocked gently once, twice and on the third knock the young lady looked over at me and sternly pointed at the hours of operation sign. It was right in front of me. I smiled and said āoh sorry I didnāt realize the timeā (something to that effect). I looked at my watch and understood I had 3 minutes before the store would open at 2:30. There was no smile or overture inviting me to come back or stick around. There is an IGA in the mall so I decided to buy a couple groceries and make my way back for a vanilla milkshake as originally intended.
About 10 minutes later I put my groceries in the car and went back to the ice cream shop. There was a family of 3 in the store looking at the selection and another Mom, Dad and child enter with me. They went straight to the service counter so I decided to use the washroom. About 2 minutes later I came out of the washroom and the one family was still looking at the selection and the other family was at the service counter with the original young woman in glasses who pointed out the hours of operation sign. Another friendly young woman walked to the area I was waiting at by the service counter and asked me what I wanted to order. I looked at the menu and saw that regular milkshakes are available so I told her that I would like a large vanilla milkshake. She smiled, said sure and tried to approach the cash register. She went left and right to get at the machine around the young lady in glasses.
The lady in glasses quickly got frustrated and though I was quietly standing well back, she pointed at me and said sternly āyouāre going to have to wait!ā
The friendly young woman serving me said it will just take a moment. I said walking towards the door āI donāt want anything anymore.ā
I left and went to the Baskin Robins near Willowbrook. Service was excellent and I bought a large milkshake and bought a large hand packed carton of ice cream.
Not sure how I upset the young lady in glasses but I wonāt likely risk doing it, whatever...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery fun little place. There are 4 bases for soft serve to choose from - vanilla, chocolate, vegan cashew vanilla & yogurt. Then you select treats, fruit, candy, anything you like - and they are drill-mixed and soft served for a really nice swirly finish, with free unlimited toppers! The menu has lots of recommended options for flavor combinations, but you really could make anything. They can even do straight up fruit to make fresh sorbet!
The machine is washed between each flavor. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
We enjoyed Strawberry Nutella and Cake Batter. The cake batter was perfect, even superior to the one at Earnest in Vancouver.
We will definitely be back....
