It was our first time to eat at Hitori and it was the best decision ever! Lol. ;) The place when we came was quiet as it was after peak lunch hours already. We were seated originally on the left side as soon as you enter but we requested to try the cubicle style seating on the right side and the server was happy to accommodate our request. The service was fantastic! We were served with hot tea as we got seated and our orders came pretty quickly. We ordered the teriyaki dishes and I had Salmon Teriyaki while my husband got the Beef Teriyaki. We both were very satisfied with our orders but for me personally, i loved how fresh the salmons tasted. You can tell the freshness of it because it melts in your mouth and just really good quality. The teriyaki sauce tasted really good as well, it’s not overly sour and not too salty. For me, this by far is the best Salmon Teriyaki I have ever had. Price is definitely worth the quality, But, I hope they don’t do price increase so we can go back and enjoy their food again. One last thing, our server was really friendly and she was efficient! Thank you Hitori for the good food!

We visited Hitori on our first night in BC after moving here and were highly impressed. Over the next few months, we visited many other sushi restaurants in the area and as far as the centre of Vancouver - and none of them better (or come close) to Hitori. The staff are super friendly and kind and you can tell that they really care not only for the presentation of their food, but they also work hard to find the best possible ingredients. Everything we have eaten there is wonderful, but we would recommend their speciality rolls as well as sashimi and Aburi dishes. Im getting hungry just writing this. The only thing I would say that could be improved would be from my wife, who wishes they had Uni more often; but other than that - perfect. 5 Stars.

Really annoyed with my visit here tonight. Ordered takeout, got home and my miso soup cup was half full. I looked at my moms miso soup and it was also half full which in the past has always been full. Called to complain and the girl on the phone laughed and said that’s normal. They only give one scoop which equals 1/2 cup. So beware, for 1.75$ you will only get 1/2 cup of miso soup. Felt like telling her she was rude but refrained. Been here many times but time to take my business elsewhere for how cheap and rude this restaurant is going to be.

Great japanese restaurant in the heart if murrayville. Their default is wild sokeye salmon and not the atlantic farm garbage most other places use. I was impressed as i did not have to request it. Clean, bright and the individual booths make it a great place to dine in as well during the pandemic. Quality sushi at reasonable, if not too reasonable of a price. Saba battera and any of their aburi is a must. A good mix of traditional fare for the purists and also some creative modern items for the adventurous. Our new family sushi...
