Updated Review: BEWARE OF THIS CHEAPSKATE BUSINESS - WHO WILL CHARGE YOU FOR REQUESTING PROPERLY MADE DRINKS. If you ever wonder why your drink is 90% water, don't be surprised. They will eventually charge you for entering their store as well. There are so many people upset over this new ownership. They seem to be in denial. They cannot accept the fact that he lacks what the previous owners had - A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND HUMANITY. I am not surprised how my feedback was used against me because that is why I wrote a honest review in the first place. You display your cheapskate nature and prove my review right by carefully gaslighting my comment and make it about "free ingredients". I regret even writing anything remotely positive about this business. I never asked for free ingredients, the old staff were just more motivated and NICE people who made great drinks! Now you have stooped down even low. By crying about high cost of living, you don't justify your shortcomings and you call yourself "business owners". What a lovely professional response like the other reviewer said. You truly will shine in the business world! :) Good luck with your watery drink scams.
Original Review: It is with great difficult that I write this review for a place which used to be my favorite, but I think it’s necessary. I've been going here for the past two years. Today, I ordered my regular 'mocha' and was surprised to find two additional charges on my bill by the new person working there today (extra for cream and extra for chocolate, frankly, extra for making a good quality drink). Unfortunately, what I received was a poorly executed, watery version of my favorite drink. I think the owner wants the new hires to do as little as possible and charge for extra things which isn’t fair because you should make the drink properly and maintain the consistency for loyal customers. Brooke used to prepare it exceptionally well. When Jana took over, she listened to my feedback and maintained the quality. Matteya also listened to my feedback and is a lovely lady! However, I am tired of how many people they keep hiring daily. Even if they do, they have no idea of their regulars. However, many of my recent visits indicates a shift in their customer care priorities. It seems they prioritize new customers and profit margins over regulars like myself. It's disheartening that they neglect their long-time customers who have supported them. I have heard similar experiences from many others, though many are unable to voice their concerns publicly. I will miss this place for the amazing job the lovely ladies I knew did however, I will not be spending another dime at this place...
Read moreEdit review based on your reply: Thank you for your reply, however I wanted to clarify a few points that you put in that were not correct. 1) yes I used to get free Almond milk when Ron owned the coffee shop. . I never asked for this, however he and his staff just started doing it. As far as me asking you repeatedly is NOT true at all. I never asked you for this, the staff may have continued to do it but you remedied that fast and I understood. I frequent Starbucks often and that is a charge I have paid for years. I don’t mind paying for things I want and would never think a business would have to do this for me. The problem I had was you made a horrible London fog. You added far too much water and very little milk and vanilla syrup. I heard this from many of your regulars as well, who all have changed their drinks. What you made me was a tea misto and I could not justify paying for something I did not want, it was NEVER about the almond milk. 2) you bought this business after Covid and I know cost went up during that time because we would talk to the owner. That’s why we came rain or shine to support him and his business. These new cost you talk about would have been there when you took over, so there is no excuse for making a terrible drink and then trying to make it look like I was being unreasonable. I rarely ever do a review, especially a negative one but I must say you surprised me we such an unprofessional response. End of edit. Original post: I have been going to the Joy of coffee for over 10 years with my husband. Even through the pandemic we would show up rain and shine everyday to support their business because they were that good. The staff, food and drinks were the best and we wanted to show them how much we appreciated them.Brooke, Gemma and Jeannie treated you like you were special and their drinks are and were always fantastic!!! Unfortunately the business got sold, and we get everyone needs to retire. :(. We just never thought that our drinks would go down hill so fast. I mentioned it to one of the new owners and they were not to happy to hear about it and it definitely did not get fixed. I would have stopped going there awhile ago since the drink situation never got better but I loved the staff, however I rarely recognize anyone anymore!! It’s too bad you take a business that had great staff, customer and had the best vibe and you turn it into something you no...
Read moreI'm a regular, so I'm biased. Otherwise great people. They give me something special all the time. And something different all the time. I can say that because I really do not pick my drinks. I allowed the barista to choose for me. That way, I can choose from the many flavors and many types of drinks that do do have and some not on the menu..... FYI the better ones are not on the menu. Just ask them...
Barista's choice and mix it up a little the only downfall is you take what you get a deal dont cry if you dont like it or better yet dont ask at all keep too you fav an dont change but with that note dont say your open minded to new thing an wine becuase you dont like it just dont do it period
For the open minded Bless your heart where innovation lies is where you begin. Try something new, explore a little. You never know if there's better drinks if you haven't...
