Golden Medal Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Township of Langley

I think it is always important to rate any restaurant against the standard it should achieve. This is important when considering Golden Medal. This is not authentic and refined Chinese. Rather, it is westernized Chinese food that is common across Canada and they do it well.

The decor here is in need of a refresh. There is visible wear and tear. Maintenance and updating have been put off, likely the fault of the previous Chinese restaurant that occupied this space. Even the outside signage is in desperate need of replacement. Things are clean though and there is obviously an effort to present the best face of the old space. It is not overly distracting and should not deter you from considering a dine-in experience.

Service here is very friendly and efficient. Tea was recommended to us due to the wet and cold weather outside, this was a thoughtful gesture. Our order was taken without any delay. There was some dialogue to find out our interests and ensure we were satisfied. It met our needs in a very helpful and personal way.

The food we had was fresh and well done. I was surprised at some delicate flavor profiles that are not often found in this style of food. Vegetables were cooked but also remained crisp. The almond chicken was nicely battered and the nuts were fresh. Portion size was large and we walked out with leftover containers.

Is this a good choice for a meal that is large enough for most appetites. It is westernized Chinese and they do a good job delivering that...

Golden Medal is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in Langley, and our recent visit for my mom’s birthday made it even more special. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. The service here is incredible—genuine, warm, and attentive without being overbearing. The staff went above and beyond to make my mom feel celebrated, which meant the world to us.

And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and served piping hot. The portions were generous, and you can taste the quality in every bite. The crispy duck was a standout, the dumplings were perfectly tender, and the seafood dishes were incredibly fresh. It’s the kind of food that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate how good it is.

What really set Golden Medal apart was the experience. They didn’t just serve a meal—they created a memory for us. If you’re looking for a place that delivers exceptional food and truly cares about its customers, this is it. Whether it’s a casual night out or a special occasion, you won’t be disappointed.

Without a doubt, the WORST, and most DISAPPOINTING Chinese food I have ever experienced in all my life! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! -Was my families first and last time we will ever order from this business… -My family and I felt like vomiting after trying this place! -Ordered the dinner for 3 for my family and a dish of Honey Garlic chicken. -The beef in the chop suey tasted anything other than beef, with a rubber texture; not to mention it was discoloured and had a very unpleasant taste. -All of the food tasted bland, greasy and disappointing. -The veggies in the chop suey were well undercooked. -All the chicken, beef and pork did not taste fresh. -The chicken fried rice was bland. The chicken chow mein was also bland and greasy. -Never have I had to throw out an entire and unfinished takeout dinner before (95% of the meal was untouched)… -SPENT OVER 70$ JUST TO BE LEFT FEELING SICK AND FOR THE MEAL TO BE THROWN DIRECTLY INTO THE TRASH.

The restaurant may be called golden medal but the food and experience is not even worth a participation medal… Absolutely...
