My family decided to eat here as it’s nearby the cinema where they’ll be watching a movie after dinner. I made an online reservation for a group of six 3hrs prior as we were not sure how busy it would be for a Tuesday night. It was my first time making reservations at a restaurant after having a baby, so I forgot to count my 3 month old son as the 7th member of our party (mommy brain). Though I did make note on the reservation that it’s for my mom’s birthday.
Sad to say but they didn’t “reserve” the best seating for us. We were wedged in an awkward area right by the waiter server station which made it seem like our reservation was not something they put any thought in, even though they were given advance notice. Is this how they treat a group celebrating a birthday? Quite distasteful, it seemed like they just retrofitted 6 chairs to a usually 4-seater area by adding another table which made us feel cramped. We ended up pulling an additional chair ourselves to place my baby’s car seat on as he was still asleep but it blocked the flow of the waiters’ path to the server station. There were so many other vacant tables that have better spacing at the back of the restaurant so I don’t understand why they sat us where they did. I just wished they offered to move us elsewhere after seeing that we need more space with a baby, but they paid no attention.
An added bummer is that they did not do anything to ensure she had a special birthday dining experience here. Did they even read the note I made on the reservation? It’s disappointing.
As for the food, generally good (calamari, pot pourri spaghetti, linguine with clams, fettucine alfredo) except for the entree that my mom had which was the roasted garlic grilled chicken. She told me the chicken was overly dry, and the linguine noodles were tough to eat, almost al dente but not quite. I was sad that she didn’t have a pleasant time at this restaurant.
Yet I do want to credit our waiter for being prompt with refilling our waters, constantly supplying more sourdough bread and being friendly - though I felt like it wasn’t enough to make up for the whole experience.
Safe to say that my family will never consider celebrating any of our birthdays here...
Read moreI came here about two weeks ago, and my experience was beyond horrible and still bothers me to this day. We were seated in the bar area, where there was a family with kids next to us at the table. Service was slooow, and when our food finally came all the pasta was dry we had to ask for more sauce which took 10 min so when we got to our sauce our food was cold. Not to mention while waiting for the sauce the kid at the family table beside us threw up right in front of our booth, and it's wasn't a small amount we couldnt even leave the booth. When the sauce came out the waiter just stepped over it and just dropped the food and walked off... when we finally saw anyone again it had been 30 mins of us sitting stuck and smelling throw up with our cold food that we didnt eat given the smell. He eventually came over 40 mins later and asked if we were done with our meal and ready for the bill. (Instead of asking if everything was okay since our meals were untouched) At this point we were able to get someone to clean it up which they didn't even do properly. They never used the white powder/proper cleaning to get rid of the smell and chucks and after telling them it was throw up and our food wasn't good they never offered to remake it or move us to another booth. After all this he thinks it's okay just to bring us the bill. At this point we asked to speak to the manager which took another 30 mins for her to come over. We then complain to the manager at the time and she offered us $10 off, because it wasn't their fault... This is actually terrible. Had things been handled properly... cleaning up right away, moving us, remaking our meals we would have been happy but they did nothing it was a two and half hours in total and the 4 of us didn't eat a thing. We just wanted to get out of there cause it smelt so bad, and just waiting for service and fighting with the manager to do the bare minimum on top everything. I used to love this location but...
Read moreI had not been to the old spaghetti factory in years and my companion is a big fan so we dined there on a Saturday about 1:00. Everybody is very friendly and we received our drinks and menus quickly after being seated. Their lunch rush had passed already so there seemed to be a lot of staff and just a couple of large tables and then two or three tables of two so we chilled and relaxed and chatted. Our salads came quickly as did the bread and we had ordered as we knew what we wanted but it must have been a full half hour before our entrees came. We are pretty easy going so we didn't think a whole lot about it but I did step up to the bar and talk to the lady that was taking phone orders I guess. By the time I got back to my table, the manager was assisting the young lady to deliver our food to us and we were told that she was new so she probably forgot to put our order in. We continued our 3-hour dining experience and waited quite a long time after we were done eating for the waitress to come back and ask if we wanted ice cream. Again the time lapse was so long that I went up to the bar and talk to the same gracious lady who helped us. By the time I got back to our table the dishes of spumoni and vanilla ice cream had come and the lady at the bar also gave us a strawberry cheesecake on the house. The food was good and we made the best of a sticky situation as we were really hungry and it indeed was a long wait. This does not put me off from going to the old spaghetti factory but for future lessons, the wait staff as they are training need to be on the ball with their customers' needs. The lag in service tainted our visit to the old spaghetti factory just...
