Mazatlan — Restaurant in Township of Langley

The tiny piece of steak was like a piece of lousy round that had been soaked in baking soda to make it tender which all it actually did was give it a slimy texture . The salsa and chips brought first did not look homemade like I would expect ,it was all watery, the rest of the meal if you could actually call it that since it was the size of an appetizer was just kind of slapped on the plate with not alot of pride for presentation . Now go to pay , get handed a totally shady hand written receipt where none of the numbers added up correctly , nope don't take MasterCard , ok debit , nope don't take debit , okay I'll get money out of the bank machine in there , nope machine doesn't work . E transfer or cash only , well I didn't have cash on me and I don't do e-transfer . So now I'm feeling bad having my gf pay , watch when you send e-transfer because they don't even spell Mazatlan right so there goes one wrong e-transfer so now we're trying to send the proper e-transfer while trying to retrieve the wrongly sent one. The only other table in there got blindsided by the cash only thing as well so I'm pretty sure this is a regular occurrence. A simple sign on the door would have at least made that part of the experience decent. Overall I wasn't impressed by the food , and for what you actually got it's way overpriced. That was definitely a one-and-done...

The best mexican food I have tried in the lower mainland it's that good. Amazing experience overall really friendly and kind with amazing customer service and amazing vibe also the food was amazing. Anna is an amazing person she is so kind and is like having an amazing mother who cooks with her heart and passion. The food was amazing quality I was really impressed. To be honest at first I was hesitant to try this place since it's in Aldergrove in a hole but what I learned is places like this are the best an as authentic it can get was definitely worth the try the great reviews was as expected I'm glad I tried it definitely worth 5 stars. It doesn't get as authentic as this for mexican food I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting near by in Aldergrove it's a must try and I will definitely be going back. If you want to feel welcomed and have someone cook your food with love like your mother would for you then this is the place for you. It felt like as if I was at home and I never felt like that going to any restaurant. Please give this a try you will not be disappointed and will be very pleased of the service just being there will make you happy. Last but not least bring cash with you since they only accept cash and trust me you will leave the place really happy...

I really wanted to like this place, I respect the grind and drive from the owners to have their restaurant in such an unfortunate location, but I was met with some subpar service.

Firstly, note that the only payment methods at this location are cash and e-transfer.

Secondly, the cook was unable to follow through with meal changes due to allergies. We asked for a vegan meal because of a dairy allergy - and the cook said it was fine - but when we received the food, there was cheese on our beans :( Thankfully, my tacos did not have cheese so the whole meal wasn't ruined, and it tasted amazing, but I was a little sad that my request wasn't respected, even though there wasn't any trouble initially when I ordered for it.

I wouldn't really recommend this place to vegetarians/vegans. There are very few options for us, and it seems that any alterations aren't do-able. If you can manage the higher price, I'm sure that strEATS down the road would be more accepting of dietary restrictions. I've heard that they offer...
