Bistro on Prince — Restaurant in Truro

The server was great! The kitchen service and food when it finally arrived (an hour later) was not good. My friend and I were the first people in at 11:35 am. Two other people came in about 10 minutes later. We were the only customers in the restaurant. I order the steak and pepper sandwich,medium rare. My friend ordered the fancy burger. We watched the server go in and out of the kitchen multiple times. At about the time I figured out meals were ready, the server came out carrying two dishes. Unfortunately it was for the second table who came in after us by 10 minutes. By the 30 minute mark I started to wonder if they had to go butcher a cow, then we thought they went to the store to buy beef. It was exactly one hour after placing the order that our food came out. My medium rare steak was well done. The hamburger was missing the garnishes and dry. Our great server asked if we wanted to send it back. I said no, because I may never see it again and I am hungry. The server felt so bad and said it happens alot. I was looking for a nice restaurant to go to on a regular basis. I don't have the time to sit and wait an hour for over cooked food. A 50.00 meal for two should not take an hour to prepare. Combined cooking time would be 22 minutes. What was happening for the next 38 minutes? Do better. Pay for our lunch in...

Wanted to try somewhere new in Truro and this place didn't dissapoint. We started with $5 lime margaritas. They were great but didn't last long so we got more. We started with wings and pulled pork nachos. The wings were very over cooked and the meat in them pretty much was non existent from being fried way too long. The nachos were huge and we only got the half sized portion. It was a great value for $10. For our mains we got the BBQ Maple Bourbon burger which was very tasty and came with delicious fries and the chicken sandwich and Greek salad which were also good. Our servers Jamie and Justin were attentive, friendly and keep us hydrated while sitting outside. The patio is nice with lots of greenery and mixed seating areas, some with shade. Navigating the hotel to find the restaurant was tricky but with the help of someone from the hotel we found it.

We decided to stop by The Bistro for supper. Finally after almost a 2-hour wait we received our check. It took almost half an hour for us to get a glass of water and utensils. It then took more than 20 minutes for someone to come back and take our order. We then waited almost another half hour to receive our meal. The waitress was very apologetic and said that they were short staffed and offered dessert on the house which we declined. I guess it's a sign of the times but we won't be going back there again anytime soon.
