House Of Chop Suey — Restaurant in Tweed

Blandest chow mein I've ever had. No wok flavour, the chicken seemed to have been boiled, no salt or seasoning to speak of in the chow mein sauce. Just watery, tasteless glop. The whole thing might as well have been microwaved or boiled or some combination of the two. The only saving grace was that the broccoli was fresh and cooked pretty perfectly, I must say. I tried salvage it by dumping the three soy sauces provided, but couldn't finish it even with the added flavour. While this was a very watery and soggy chow mein by most standards, I also wasn't provided napkins with my takeout order. The proprietors seemed nice, but any warm impressions faded with my beard becoming soaked in tasteless, watery slop and the accompanying rage caused by the lack of napkins with which to remedy the...

Fantastically FRESH Chinese food. The best I've EVER had anywhere, ever. House Rice dish was tender fragrant , not over cooked.. or over flavored with soy.

Sweet & Sour Chicken was amazing too. Served with a very light Sweet n sour sauce , I wonder from scratch?? ( certainly not that heavy dark red sauce from a jug .. you know the one)

Chicken Egg Foo Yung was extremely enjoyable. Lightly sautéed w/ *fresh herbs ( *a 1st ) I wish I'd ordered more 😉

In my opinion, this Mum & Pop shop is ACES over any other Chinese restaurant offering the same traditional...
