Browns Crafthouse on Main Street is a study in contrasts. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with an eclectic interior design that seems to have been curated by a whimsical artist. The walls are adorned with vintage beer signs, mismatched furniture fills the space, and the bar is a mosaic of reclaimed wood. It's a mishmash of styles that somehow works, creating an atmosphere that is both cozy and vibrant.
As you settle into your seat, you may notice that the service is a bit lacking. The staff seems stretched thin, and it can take a while to get their attention. However, what they lack in efficiency, they make up for in effort. They genuinely try their best to accommodate your needs and make your experience enjoyable.
One of the highlights of Browns Crafthouse is their happy hour, particularly after 9pm on weekdays. During this time, the prices drop significantly, making it an affordable option for those looking to unwind cheaply. The selection of craft beers and cocktails is impressive, and the discounted prices make it even more enticing.
The food menu at Browns Crafthouse is diverse, offering a range of options to suit different tastes. From hearty burgers to flavorful tacos, and oddly weirdly delicious poutine, there's something for everyone. The quality of the dishes is decent, though not exceptional. The flavors are enjoyable, but they don't necessarily push any boundaries, except for the Poutine which was differently addictive.
While Browns Crafthouse may not be the pinnacle of culinary excellence, it offers a unique and laid-back atmosphere that is hard to resist. The combination of the quirky interior design, the earnest but sometimes overwhelmed service, and the affordable happy hour specials make it a worthwhile destination for a casual night out with friends or a date you would rather be a friend.

Read moreTLDR; The cauliflower is super delicious but expensive for the amount you get. Don't bother with the nachos or pizza. Will come back for drinks, but won't order food again.
First time dining at this location and second time I've dined since businesses started opening up. Was looking forward to catch up with a couple of my girlfriends and relax while having some good food and some drinks. I want to acknowledge our server as he was friendly. What I will also say is the ambiance of this place was pretty cozy (considering all the covid measurements that are being taken).
But why the two star? It's the main reason for why I came here, which was to enjoy some good food that I did not have to cook myself. We ordered nachos and cauliflower and the server was saying that the nachos would be more than enough to make us full. For $19 nachos it was a tiny portion, barely melted or noticeable cheese, and it was warm at best. Cauliflower was delicious, but in my opinion overpriced for the amount you get.
So, after this we were still hungry and decided to order an artichoke pizza. About 20 mins later our server comes up to us saying our artichoke DIP must have gone to another table; we told him that we ordered a pizza and he ran off. 10 mins later we received jello shots as an apology (and this of course is so they won't have to promo our pizza). Haven't had jello shots since we were 19, but we appreciated the gesture I suppose.
Pizza arrived another 15 mins later and I'm sorry but a frozen pizza tasted better than what we were served. At this point, we were hungry and over it, and ate some of it. Server asked us how it was, and we said exactly what I just wrote on here. After all this we still of course got charged for everything, no apology, just a "oh, chef is trying a new recipe".
I'll come back for drinks, but won't...
Read moreWent to Browns for dinner on November 2nd and was kindly greeted by our host and seated right away. Our table had an anaphylactic person to all seafood. Before ordering we told the server the severity. We ordered, as per the menu, the pork gyosas and the chips and guacamole. After the appies were brought to the table and placed before us, the waitress then says, just so you are aware the gyosas have shrimp as well. We were not impressed. No where in the menu did it say shrimp as an ingredient, just pork, or we wouldn't have ordered them, as we could not have seafood at the table. This was the only error made all night, however, it almost lead to a very very bad night for us, as one bite would have put the customer in anaphylaxis within seconds. Thank you to our waitress who pointed this out before we ate them. After this we received our meals. We ordered the #29 Dragon Bowl with teriyaki chicken, deadly flavor, chicken was a little dry however the flavor made up for it. We also ordered the Meatball Marinara, excellent. The burger with a poutine, the best burger we've had in Vancouver so far, and the Chicken Mac and Cheese, which again was spectacular. Overall, the food and service were fantastic and luckily we avoided what could have been a deadly night. Thank you to our waitress for being on the ball and thank you to the staff and chefs for delivering a fantastic meal. Will...
